"Are you hungry?" Your girlfriend asked asked as she brushed her fingers along your arms.
"I'm getting pretty hungry, yeah." You replied.
"How about, before we choose another movie, we order some food."
"That sounds perfect."
A kiss was placed on your lips before your girlfriend pulled away to grab her phone and order you both some food.
Just as the order was placed, there was a knock on your front door.
"Wow, this restaurant has superspeed." She joked and you laughed before kissing her cheek and going to answer the door.
And you were so shocked to see who was standing there.
Your ex-girlfriend of a month and a half, Hanni.
"What are you doing here?" You asked. "Did you not hear the part when I stormed out of your house over a month ago that I never wanted to see you again?"
"No. I heard it. Loud and clear." Hanni replied.
"Then you shouldn't be here." You said before going to close the door, only for her to put her hand in the way.
"Don't. Please." She quietly pleaded. "I have so much I need to say to you. I don't even know where to begin."
You leaned against the door and folded your arms over your chest.
You had no intention of forgiving her but you wanted to hear what she had to say because you know you were right about what would happen when you walked away from her.
"I know what I did to you is unforgivable. I don't blame you at all that you're so angry with me. I can't believe how incredibly stupid I was to give you and everything we had away for someone I barely knew. I hate myself for it."
You looked down at your feet and thought back to the last time you saw her, the same day when you hoped it would be actually be the last time.
You showed up at her place for a date that you had planned.
But it seemed that Hanni had forgotten about it because you saw that she wasn't alone.
A new staff member was there but not for any work reason but rather because she and Hanni were secrelty together.
You remember being angrier than ever as you snapped at her and cursed her out for being so insane to give everything that you two had up for someone she barely knew.
Instead of realizing that you were right and that ruining a genuinely amazing relationship with someone for over five months wasn't worth it for someone she's barely know for a week, she decided to end things with you and be with the staff member instead.
You were heartbroken and swore up and down that you would never forgive her for this.
You told her that was no point in her ever coming around because you'd never move on from this.
How could you forgive someone you'd been so in love with for leaving you for someone else?
It just wasn't something you could ever move past.
You told her to never call you again or show up at your doorstep, even when this so-called amazing new relationship of hers came crashing down.
Yet, here she was.
At your door.
In tears as she told you that things didn't work out and she missed you.
"I know I messed up. I know I ruined everything between us and that you hate my guts but I miss you so much and I would do anything to make this right."
"You never can make it right, Hanni. I told you that I would never be able to forgive you for this the moment I left. You're the one that gave up everything we had to be with someone you barely knew. You should've known better!"
She lowered her head and tried to blink away the tears that fell from her eyes but she just couldn't help but let them fall.
"Besides, I've moved on."
"What? You have? With who?" She asked before your girlfriend stood up and walked over to the door to stand with you.
She put her arms around you as Hanni said her name in shock.
"Minji?"
"Hey, Hanni," Minji said with a small but kind smile.
"You're dating Minji?" She asked you. "That's who you moved on with? One of my best friends? You're dating each other now?"
"Hanni, come on. You left Y/N for someone you didn't even know that well. She was crushed. I was there to comfort her."
"What did that comfort include? Making out?" Hanni asked as she rolled her eyes at her friend.
"Of course not. She was vulnerable and sad for a while. But then, she realized she deserved better than someone who could so easily walk away and give up everything they had! Then we confessed our feelings for each other when things felt right." Minji spoke.
Hanni sighed as she listened to her friend.
"What you did was so messed up. You have to understand that." Minji said as she tried to reason with Hanni.
"I do. I know I screwed up and I feel so bad about it."
"When you decided to be with someone else, you ruined everything we had and could've had. I can't forgive you. I won't. I just want to move on and be happy so just go away. Please."
Minji sighed as she looked at Hanni.
"We can still be friends. We're still part of NewJeans and we still have a lot to do as a group with the other members. But when it comes to my personal life, you just can't be part of it. You can't hurt her again."
Hanni nodded understandingly as she teared up again.
"Fine. Just do me a favor?"
"What?" Minji asked.
"Treat her the way she deserves to be treated - like a queen. Give her everything I couldn't because I was too foolish. Make sure she knows how loved she is. She deserves the world." Hanni spoke, her voice cracking as the words left her lips.
"I will. See you in a few days at rehearsal."
"Yeah." Hanni sniffled as she looked at you. "Bye, Y/N. I won't ever bother or hurt you again."
"Goodbye." You spoke and watched her walk away as Minji kissed your head and held you close.
"Are you okay, baby?"
You pulled her inside and closed the door before kissing her lips softly.
"I'm good. I'm happy. I have you, that's all I need." You smiled and watched Minji do the same.
"Me too, darling." She said before kissing your head lovingly, swearing she'd never hurt you the way Hanni had.
