Chapter Sixteen

The cave was dark and cold. Light wasn't found anywhere.

This meant they were getting closer to the Dark World.

Variana was laid down on the hard, cold, stone floor and quickly fell asleep.

She wouldn't be able to help make a fire so all three of them spent the night shivering, and cold.

Dean and Gondel stayed awake, staring out at the forest outside of the cave.

"These past few days were really crazy." Dean whispered.

Gondel nods, staring at a tree, the wind slowly shaking it's branches.

"I can't believe she risked her life saving me from that tree..."

Gondel swallows at the thought of the tree almost crushing Variana to death.

"She's very brave." He states.

Dean was leaning against a wall with his legs crossed and one hand inside his pocket.

Gondel was curious to what he had in his pocket, "What's that?"

Dean took out something shiny... Broken pieces that was familiar to Gondel.

The necklace.

"Get, that cursed thing out of here." He says coldly.

Dean looked frightened, "Just because this forest doesn't like the necklace doesn't mean we shouldn't keep it."

"But if we kept it with us then bad things would happen all the time. How long did you have that with you?"

Dean gulps and doesn't speak, but the silence said many things.

"Are you serious. That tree was going to kill you because of that necklace. Get rid of it." Gondel said trying not to yell.

He stood up and held his hand out for the necklace.

The wind was starting to blow hard... Another dust storm was near by.

Gondel needed to act quick.

Forgetting the necklace, he looks above and around him.

Rocks formed the cave... If the dust storm was large enough it could shake the whole thing down and kill them.

He closes his eyes tightly, listening for the wind... Getting closer and closer by the second.

Rumbling and shaking started, loud booms shook the floor.

The wind stopped. There wasn't a breeze in the cave.

Gondel opened his eyes, his arms were extended to his sides.

Rock after rock was stacked on one another, blocking there way out of the cave.

Gondel wondered how this happened... Why didn't the cave collapse on them.

He turned around to find Variana... She was still asleep.

"D-did. How did you do that?" Dean stuttered from a corner of the dark cave.

Gondel had only one answer for this but it was unbelievable.

Varianas powers has influenced him.

But this wasn't the first time he has dark casted.

Many secrets were hidden in him, kept for himself and for no one to know.

Then he remembered that he promised Variana that he would tell her everything.

He thought to himself that Everything would be told at the end.
