Chapter Twenty-Five

Soon after the chaos at Lord Astedons castle, Variana and Gondel stayed at a hospital getting well rested and cared for. Astedon was making plans of how the castle will look after it is rebuilt. It was a new start for him and a bad ending for Variana and Gondel. Their friend died because of how much power Variana took from him. He was weak enough already... Variana felt so guilty.

After the mess of getting out of the Light World, after the dangerous journey through the forest and after the heroic but deathly escape out of the castle and defeating Jonah... After all that crap and destruction, It cost the life of many nnocent people.

Was Variana really doing good, or making things worse for everyone?

Gondel woke up from his sleep but was still in pain from being chained so many times. "Good morning." Variana whispered to him. She sat next to him on his bed, intertwining her fingers with his. He smiled but then sighed at the pain, "He's gone." Remembering about Dean, Variana shook her head and grinned, "He is with us, and always will be with us." Variana caresses his hand with her thumb.

"Not physically." Gondel shook his head. Variana was shocked at his horrible tone, she was trying to lighten things up. "You could of done something else. Something else to save us." He said with grief. "What Gondel? What in the world did you want me to do?"

"Well if you really put your heart into being a Light Caster than you would of done something rather safer than killing us." Gondel argued back. Variana just felt like yelling and screaming. How could he say that to her? But did he have a point?

"I couldn't control it-" Gondel interrupts, "You can always control it. You can always make a choice. Choose the good not the bad. I had faith in you! You're The Special One, you should of known what to do and how to control your powers! I thought you were good."

There was silence. Variana stood up and walked around the room, frustrated. Scratching her head, she finally said it. Something that was aching to get out of her head but she could never find a way to say it. "I think I am truely meant for the Dark World."
