Last time on Dragon Ball Xenoverse Z, Yamota and the others split up to rescue Bulma. However, they were encountered by Cooler's Armored Squadron, including the vile brother of Frieza himself. While Yamota and the others were fighting against Cooler and his men, Goku and Bulma safely made it towards the ship.
Goku: Alright, we've made it.
Bulma: *sigh* It is so good to see one of Dad's tech.
Goku: Good thing is it's far away from the battle, so you won't feel any shockwaves.
Goku was now beginning to sense Frieza's power rising, but what he also sensed was Yamota and his allies's power dropping from Cooler.
Goku: Bulma, whatever you do. Do not leave this ship. This is for your safety.
Bulma: Goku... I get it. Just... be careful, alright? I don't want Chi-Chi to yell at me if you somehow died again.
Goku: Don't worry, I won't.
Goku begins to fly out of the ship and was now faced with an ultimate decision.
Goku: 'This isn't good... Gohan, Krillin, Vegeta... And... Piccolo... They're not doing well. *turns back* But Yamota isn't either... What should I do?... Dammit!'
He was conflicted on what to do, but eventually he knows when not to butt in on Yamota's work.
Goku: 'No, Yamota is here on a mission that involves the Grimm... All I can do is trust him... Stay alive, Yamota... I'm counting on you.'
He made the decision as he rushes off towards Frieza's direction.

As Yang and Koneko were doing their best to fend off Cooler's men, Cooler lands on the edge and looking over the lake he threw Yamota in. He saw bubbles as Yamota comes back up for air, but to an unpleasant surprise.
Cooler: Are you done with your bath, monkey? Because I'm going to take the time to make sure you come out with nothing but broken bones.
Yamota in this situation was out of his depth as he blasts himself up towards the air. He was about to draw his sword to defend himself, but Cooler appears right behind him and disarms him of his blade, as well as blasting of his sheathe and belt. Yamota was now left defenseless as he then remembered what he had in his pocket.

Guru: If you all are powerless, use it to call upon a friend from the future beyond.

Yamota: 'A future beyond...'
Cooler: Are you done standing idly?
Yamota: I may have. 'I gotta use this move.... I'm borrow it for this!'
