Gyalzen POV
Following our encounter with N'Doul in the desert, we were forced to stop off in the city of Aswan to get Kakyoin and Avdol to the hospital. It was unclear how long they'd be there for considering the nature of their wounds however it was safe to say the mood was at a low because of it.
Polnareff broke the silence between us as he asked "So, how are they?" Joseph answered "Luckily, Avdol's major arteries weren't damaged. So he'll probably be released tomorrow. But Kakyoin's injuries are serious. He could go blind."
Jotaro said "I hate to say it, but we may have to leave him behind." I nodded, saying "That is understandable. Especially if time is of the essence." We continued to walk for a bit, gaining a feel for our surroundings before Polnareff pointed out.
"Hey! Look at all these cafes. We could all use a break, let's get a drink." I smiled, saying "I like the sounds of that, good thinking." Joseph asked "Sounds good, which one?" Polnareff answered by flicking the cigarette he'd been smoking. As it hit the floor he stated.
"My cigarette says that one."
An establishment with a sign that read 'MAXIM'. No objections here, we entered the café and took a seat at one of the tables. Soon, a voice addressed us "Welcome. What would you like?" Looking up, we saw the presumed owner stood over us. A young but large man with a firm gaze, as if he was analysing us.
Image of the owner (Oingo):
Right away, there was something off about this man. The vibes he gave off weren't positive ones and his seemingly natural frown didn't help things for him either. Seems none of the others noticed this though. I decided I'd let it slide.
Instead, Polnareff ordered "Let's see, how about some tea." Jotaro and Joseph agree, the man turned to me, asking "And you sir?" I responded "Tea for me as well." The man nodded "Yes sir, four teas coming right up."
The man turned to walk away, only for Joseph to say "No, scratch that." Polnareff blurted "Eh?" As I raised an eyebrow. Joseph explained "Listen, we're in enemy territory. This is DIO's dominion. Who knows when our enemies may attack. We have to be more cautious. Someone could easily poison us. From now on, we only drink from bottles and cans."
Polnareff asked "What, are you serious?" Joseph nodded before turning to the owner and saying "Hey, forget the tea, we'll take coke instead." I seconded "Same for me." The owner spun around and surprisingly enough, exclaimed "COKE?!"
My eyes narrowed, however it was Jotaro who spoke "Yeah, something wrong?" The owner raised his hands, brushing it off "N-no okay. Coke right?" As he went over to the cabinet, Joseph spoke after him "Oh, and we'll open the bottles ourselves. Give me the third, fourth, fifth and sixth ones from the right."
The owner was about to reach for them however it was now someone in the corner called out "Hey, this Coke's warm!" The customer stormed out as the owner turned to us, saying "The fridge is down so..."
