Link's POV
After the last two classes,lunchbreak finally came.As I was heading my way to the cafeteria,I can't help but look at the red sticky note that I recently got,wondering how did he manage to put it on the book without me noticing...
Aside from that,I was also thinking about Rhett,everything about him makes me curious.My mind is full of questions about him,why did he do that,why did he stood up for me,why-
*bumps*
"Woah!" I yelped as I stumbled back,the note knocked out of my hands.As I gained my balance back,I hurriedly picked up the note and put it close to my chest,sighing in relief.Thankfully no one noticed that I ran into a wall next to the cafeteria door.
Wait...
Why am I holding the note as if my life depends on it!? I hid the note on my jeans pocket as I went in the cafeteria,looking for the table where Lei and I usually sit.
When I reached the table,Lei wasn't there yet,hmm..maybe she went to get something in the library? I sat at the table,waiting for her.
Speaking of Lei,I saw her walking towards me,holding a book that was titled "World History".
"Eesh!! Why is it that this book has to be at the very top where I can't reach it!?" she complained as she sat down with a huff,setting the book down and grabbed two lunchboxes out of her bag,giving the other one to me.She always makes me lunch because she insisted to,so I really can't object.
"Then how did you get that then?" I asked as I opened the lunchbox and ate.
"Some tall guy helped me reached for it! He's soo nice~!! We kinda talked for a bit and then he told me he has something to do,so he went out and so did I.I didn't catch his name though.." she said while eating her lunch.
I can't help but wonder who the guy is,as soon as Lei told me that my heart beats fast,I don't know why though so I just ignored it.
"So,received any notes from the guy?" she asked.I was kinda confused at first but then it hit me,so I grabbed the note from my pocket and showed it to her.She took it and read what was written there.
I started hearing squeals coming from her,her eyes sparkling as she looked at me.
"OH MY GOSH!! He already knows you~~!! I can't believe this! Ever since 7th grade? Wow,he must have watched you from the sidelines,huh??" she told me as she handed back the note to me,I hid the note in my bag and looked at her.
"Yeah,but,It's been so long..how did he manage to,you know,remember me?" I asked,my mind full of confusion.
"That's what love does,Link.If you found someone who you love,you can't seem to forget them.Sure,as you grow up you change,but that doesn't mean he'll forget you.His heart already knows you,so once he sees you,his heart will beat faster which signifies that you are the one who he falls in love with all those years ago." she explained,her eyes focusing on the table,thinking.
I began thinking as well,I wonder if I am falling for this guy who is practically a stranger to me.As my thoughts began to wonder,my mind brought me back to where I held the note so close to my chest,as if someone will try and steal it from me.I guess that signifies it,if he knows me,then I'll try to figure out who he is and get to know him.I looked up and with a new resolve,patted Lei on the shoulder to get her attention.
"I may not know him,but I'll try and figure out who he is.Since he left the note at my book without me noticing,that means he's at the same class as me,and if I got more later,that's means were in the same room for the next 3 classes.I'll try and keep an eye on him and I'll find out who he is." I said,my voice full of determination.
Lei smiled at me and nodded,grabbing my hand and gave it a firm grip.
"Wait,he left the note at your book without you noticing it!? Ninja moves man! That guy's fast!" she said as she dropped her hand and grabbed her empty lunchbox,putting it in her bag,I did the same as I blushed.
"Y-yeah he did,and also someone stood up for me." as soon as I said that her eyes widened
"REALLY!? AND WHO IS THIS KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR OF YOURS,HM?! TELL ME!!" she said as she grabbed my shoulders and started shaking me violently.I grabbed her hands to stop it and she dropped them,now leaning her head on her hands,looking at me with shining eyes.
"His name is Rhett.The jocks were throwing papers at me until he caught one and look at them full of anger,I don't know what happens next since I had my head down but I heard the jocks' footsteps running towards their seats." I said as her eyes widened,a smile on her face
"I guess I don't need to worry then~! Since someone will be protecting you~! " she smiled as she grabbed her bag and stood up,I did the same as well and bell rang just in time,indicating that lunch is over.
As we walked to our next lesson,Lei tapped my shoulder,I looked at her,my head tilted to the side indicating what's wrong.
"You know,this Rhett guy is nice,maybe you should befriend him,but don't fall for him~! You already have you secret admirer~! " she smirked.I blushed at her remark and was about to say something when I saw her heading to the other direction,heading to her next class.
I went in the room and sat at my usual seat,grabbing a book from my bag to read.
