Rhett's POV
*~At the 2nd floor hallway~*
Lei and I ran towards the corridor where the unused room is located. My heart is pounding so hard from me running.I just hope that Link is okay...
We finally reached the door that will lead to Link. I looked at Lei and saw her standing,panting really hard,her eyes full of worry for what was behind that door.I looked back at the door and approached it,grabbing the doorknob with my shaking hands and slowly turning it.
I opened the door slowly and as I fully opened it wide,my eyes widened from what I saw...
Link was there,curled up on his left side unconscious,his hands hidden from my sight.He has duct tape on his mouth,a shoemark on his blue t-shirt and a bit of blood dripping on his temple.
I stood there,frozen as I saw him laying there,my mind still processing what I have seen.I was snapped out of it by Lei who ran inside and instantly went to Link's side,getting down on her knees.
"LINK!!!!" she said as she put her hands on his shoulders,trying to wake him up,but to no avail.She lifted him up and tried to get him to a sitting position so that she can release his hands from the rope that was tied to his wrist
My emotions are mixed right now.Concerned,sad,surprised,but mostly anger. I clenched my fist,anger rushing up to me. Whoever did this to Link,they're gonna get it! But for now,I need to calm down.I unclenched my fist and took a deep breath,got inside the wrecked room and kneeled next to Lei,who is looking for any wounds on his body.She looked up at me,her eyes almost tearing up.
"He's hurt pretty badly,he had been kicked on his stomach plenty of times judging from the shoemark on his shirt,his head is bleeding because of a hit to the head but he's okay. We need to call an ambulance and get him to the hospital immediately." she said. I nodded and carried Link into my arms,walking out of the room with Lei following behind.

*~At the hospital~*
Lei and I waited for about an hour,sitting next to each other at the waiting hall.We've been pacing around,looked at the clock,and did everything we could to pass the time but we eventually got tired and just sat down.
I looked over to her and saw her leaning back on the chair,an arm draping over her eyes,her glasses being held on her other hand. I can tell that she's still blaming herself... Link really matters to her so much huh? Kinda like what a sister does when her little brother is harmed; blaming herself even though it's not her fault.
I leaned in and patted her shoulder,she removed her arm over her eyes and looked at me with bloodshot eyes,her sleeves getting more dark blue because of her tears.She looks so miserable..
I gave her a reassuring squeeze and a smile,to tell her it's not her fault.She opened her other eye and smiled gratefully at me,now sitting straight.
Suddenly,the doctor finally came out of the room.Both of us stood up at the same time,now getting anxious.
"How is he?" Lei asked as she looked at the doctor with worry,I nodded,indicating that I'm asking the same thing.
"Well,nothing too severe happened to him,which is good.He had a bruise on his stomach,which will stay for a week or so.There was a bit of internal bleeding so I suggest him not to do physical activities for a while.The hit on his temple was not too severe but he'll feel a bit of a headache for a day and the reason for his unconsciousness was because of a panic attack but nonetheless,he'll be up and about in about...1 and a half week.I'll be prescribing him some pills for him to take and an oinment for his bruise and his concussion."
"Thanks doc. May we see him?" I said as Lei took the receipt for Link's meds.He nodded,we thanked him and said our goodbyes as we head to Link's room.
I looked at Lei,she also looked back at me,her eyes full of mixed emotions but mostly filled with nervousness.I gave her a reassuring smile.She closed her eyes and took a deep breath,then opened her eyes,returning the smile that I gave to her.We both opened the door to Link's room.
Going in,my eyes instantly landed on the bed where Link is sleeping peacefully,his hair sprawled out on the pillow.His forehead covered in bandages,a dextrose dangling on his side which connects to the back of his hand.
I grabbed Link's glasses out of my bag and put it at the bedside table next to him.Lei grabbed a chair from the other side of the room and put it next to Link's bedside,sitting down.
I stood there for a while,thinking back to where Link is so unconscious back at that room.My hands clenched into fists.I swear to god who ever did that to Link will pay!
"Rhett? Are you alright?" I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at Lei,who turned to look at me.I unclenched my fists and nodded.
"Yeah,I'm fine.Just thinking.." I told her.She nodded,indicating that she understood.She looked up at me.
"Will you please watch over Link for me? I need to get the medicine for him,also some clothes.I'll be back tomorrow since it's already getting dark..and someone has to tell the teachers about what happened..." she asked me. I looked at the clock and she was right,it's 5:15pm.We've been here longer than expected..
"Yeah,sure. I was planning to stay with him anyway" I told her bluntly. She then looked at me weirdly.
"Why would you want to stay with him??" she asked me.I gulped,getting nervous suddenly.I don't know how to respond to that,AT.ALL! Damn me and my thoughts...
"*shrugs* Oh well,if you want to stay then go ahead.You are the one who saved him and stood up for him,anyway. Are you sure you'll stay?" she asked as she put on her glasses and grabbed the keys out of Link's bag which I assume is the key to Link's house.
"Yeah,I'm sure.Just text me if your heading here" I told her and gave her my number.She nodded and stood up,walking out of the room.
I took a seat besides Link,watching him sleeping.I'm really glad that he'll be fine for now,but if I knew where he is,I could have saved him sooner...
I grabbed his hand and kissed the back of it,carressing it with my thumb.
"I'm sorry I didn't get to you sooner..." I whispered to him.I'm also blaming myself for what had happened because I made a promise to myself that I would protect him and I broke it.A tear started streaming down my face as I buried my face to Link's hand,holding it for dear life.I looked up at Link's sleeping face,looking so peaceful,almost like an angel.
I leaned in and kissed his forehead,then sat back,still holding on Link's hand.. I hope that you'll open your eyes soon,I want to see your eyes again..
I can't believe that when he has his eyes closed,I could easily show my feelings for him.
But when his eyes are open,I have to hide it from him...and show my feelings for him by using a red sticky note....
