*~At the Park~*
"*cough* So,are you gonna tell me what's on your mind?" Rhett asked after getting his composure.They sat there for a while after what had happened to them,but then Rhett decided to break it.Link pushed his glasses up and sighed,hesitating for a bit.He felt a hand on his shoulder,and looked up to see Rhett,giving him a comforting smile.
"You don't need to tell me if you don't want to,I was just wondering what keeps you from spacing out.." he said.Link returned the smile and finally decided to tell Rhett.After all,he doesn't want to make him worry because of his constant spacing out and it would do him good because his feelings wouldn't be bottled up anymore.Link leaned in on the tree and looked up,thinking of what he's going to say.After a minute,he decided to speak up.
"I was thinking about this boy lately.I saw him in my dreams back when I was in the hospital,unconscious.He stood up for me back then when I was a kid.He also walked me home after that to see that I'll be fine but after that,he left.I never knew his name.." he said.Looking at Rhett,he saw that his attention was on him,indicating that he was listening,so he continued his story.
"I might not know his name but I do remember his eyes and hair.His eyes was a mix of gray and green,a beautiful shade that I have ever seen and his hair was a dirty blonde,that's all I remember.I was wondering if we ever get to see each other again after all these years but I doubt that would happen.He might not remember me..." he said,ending the story.Looking at Rhett once again,he was surprised to see hurt in his eyes,wondering why would he be like that.
Rhett's heart was aching,he was supposed to be happy that Link remembers him somehow but hearing Link's words about him not remembering Link,it just made his heart ache.
'I guess it's time to confess...' he thought,determined enough to tell him.
"What if...the guy did remember you and you finally saw him after all those years?" Rhett asked,taking it with small steps before asking the big one.Link looked at him,surprised and curiously wondering why he would ask something like that,but answered the question nonetheless.
"Then I would ask him the things that I wanted to ask ever since I met him"
"Would you befriend him again?"
"Of course I would!"
"What if..he was already your friend?"
"Then that would be better!"
'Alright,here goes...' Rhett thought,finally getting enough courage to tell him.
"Then why don't you ask me all the things that you've wanted to ask ever since we were kids?" he said,repeating Link's previous answer.Link looked at him surprised,realization hitting him.
"So,it was you?!" he asked,his eyes widened.Rhett nodded his head,looking back at Link.They were looking at each other for a minute until Rhett was taken by surprise when Link hugged him tightly,his face buried in Rhett's chest.Rhett hesitantly put his arms around Link,holding him.There was a moment of silence between the two when Link broke it.
"I'm so glad I get to see you again..." he said,his voice muffled against Rhett's chest.Rhett was taken aback by this.He never really expected this. His mind was full of negative thoughts at first but when Link suddenly hugged him out of nowhere,he was happy.Happy that Link remembers him and he wanted to befriend him.
Link couldn't help his emotions anymore.He was so happy to meet the boy in his dreams and was also surprised that it was Rhett all along.All this time thinking that Rhett and the boy in his dreams might be the same person,he never knew that it could be true.He has so many doubts at first,but then was glad that now he knew the truth.
They pulled away from the hug hesitantly,missing each other's warmth and decided that they should catch up with each other for all those lost times.Rhett also told Link about all those times he protected him against the bullies without Link knowing it,making Link blush in the process.
They just talked and talked about their past until none is left.They got back in studying history for a while,occasionally talking for a bit.
About an hour studying,Rhett felt a weight on his shoulder.Looking at it,he saw a mop of dark hair facing him,Link had fallen asleep on his shoulder.Rhett stared at him for a while,admiring his sleeping form.
'The weather is good today,so I won't blame him for falling asleep. Might as well take a nap for a while,we have been studying for like an hour or so.'he thought.
Rhett gently took off Link's glasses and placed it beside him where he won't crush it accidentally and grabbed the book out of his hands the same way.
Placing the book on his side,Rhett placed a soft kiss on Link's hair and leaned his head on top of Link's,closing his eyes and drifted off to sleep with a smile on his face.
Not long after,Lei came at the park looking for the two when she saw them sitting under a tree,taking a nap,Link's head resting on Rhett's shoulder while Rhett's head on top of Link's.Admiring the sight in front of her,she grabbed her phone and took a picture of the two and left.
'I don't wanna disturb their sleep anymore,it's too adorable to be ruined by me' she smiled softly,thinking when will Rhett confess to Link.
