*Saturday,Link's House*
When weekends finally came,Lei stayed at Link's for a while until Monday came once again.It was a routine the two made since Lei hated being alone at her home at the weekends as much as Link.She had occupied the guest room that Link has and Link didn't mind at all since it felt like having a little sister.
Lei told Link that she'll meet up with Rhett at the park so that he'll be able to come and Link agreed.Not long after,the two came in,a guitar on Rhett's shoulder and a bag in his hand.Link looked at the bag suspiciously,wondering why he's carrying it.
"He hated being alone as well,his old roomate left the flat not long ago so I told him that he can stay and sleep over here if he wanted since you have a spare guest room that wasn't used.Hope ya don't mind! I'll be at "my room" if ya need me!" Lei explained once she saw Link's confused face and headed upstairs to "her" room.He blushed at the thought of Rhett staying at his home but composed himself quickly.
Rhett sets down his guitar in the living room next to the sofa as well as his bag.After that he faced Link.
"Sorry if I didn't inform you ahead and had Lei explain it to you.My flat is driving me crazy because of the silence there! I tried playing my guitar but not helping.." Rhett sighed,his face showing irritation.
"Don't worry,I don't mind at all! Were all in the same boat here.Plus,I could use some company and the more the merrier.Now sit down and I'll prepare something for us to eat." Link chuckled and headed towards the kitchen.Rhett did what Link said and took a seat on the black family-sized couch,examining his surroundings.
Link's house is pretty big despite living alone and is warm and cozy,not to mention neat.There's a bit of picture frames here and there,a regular sized tv in front of him as well as a brown wooden coffee table.A single couch on each of his sides.The room was a mix of light and dark green which makes it welcoming and fresh to look at.
He looked behind him and saw a wooden railway heading up towards the hallway where three doors are located there,one is Link's room and the other two are the guest rooms.
He looked to his left and saw a glance of the kitchen.He can't see much of it because he was sitting on the couch and the entrance is an arc-shaped one.He could make out the room is colored yellow and there was a door,which he assumed leads to the backyard.
'No wonder it drives him crazy when he's alone at the weekends.' Rhett thought.
12 minutes later,Link came out of the kitchen with a tray of food,which consisted of waffles filled with strawberry jam and two glasses of orange juice,placing it on the coffee table.Rhett thanked him and grabbed a piece,taking a bite out of it.Link called Lei from downstairs and soon enough,Lei slided down the railway and jumped down safely,landing on her feet and took a seat on Rhett's right side,grabbing a piece of waffle.
"You should be careful back there,you might end up having broken bones doing that!" Link scolded Lei,obviously not happy with what she did.
"Relax Link! I'm always careful with what I do.No need to worry!" she said with a smile,reassuring him not to worry.Link only sighed and took a seat on Rhett's left side,taking a piece of waffle as well.
After eating their food,the trio decided to review for a bit.Shuffling of pages filled the air for about an hour until Lei's head jumped up,making the other two look at Lei.
"Hey,something wrong,bud?" Rhett asked.Lei didn't respond for a bit but instead stood up and walked to the kitchen.The two looked at each other,faces full of confusion.They followed Lei and saw her standing in front of the door,peeking out from the glass,smiling.
They kept on wondering why she suddenly headed here until they heard the pitter-patter from the roof,and then Link finally realized.
It was raining.
Link knew how much Lei loved rainy seasons.She kept on telling him about the tradition her friends would do back when she's in the Philippines.Where when it rains,they would meet outside and play under the rain until it disappears.
"Why are you smiling like that,Link?" Rhett asked when he saw Link smiling out of nowhere.He faced Rhett and explained why Lei is acting like this.After Link's explanation,Rhett's lips formed into a smile,adoring the story.
"So that's why...Man,the rain sure brings her memories,huh?"
"Yeah,that's why she loves the rain so much.."
While they were talking,they didn't even notice Lei taking off her glasses and placing it on the counter isle beside her and heading out to the backyard.When the door slammed behind her,The two suddenly looked at the door,Lei no longer standing there.They looked at each other and started heading outside,Link removing his glasses and placing it next to Lei's before heading outside.
When they headed out,they saw Lei running around the backyard,her head facing the sky.Her hoodie clinging on her body as well as her jeans,and her shoes getting soaked,a childish smile on her face.Smiling at the sight,the two decided to join in,getting their clothes wet in the process.When Lei saw the two,she ran to their direction.
"TAG YOU'RE IT!" Lei yelled at Rhett,poking him in the stomach,and grabbed Link's hand,running away from him.
"OH,I'M GONNA GET YOU FOR THIS!" Rhett yelled back,running to their direction.Lei and Link headed to different directions,causing Lei to let go of his hand.Heading for Lei's direction,Rhett ran as fast as he could until he caught Lei by the waist,hoisting her up to his shoulders,causing Lei to chuckle.
"Gotcha! Now let's go and catch Link!" he said.Lei chuckled and nodded in response.Rhett took giant steps to catch Link since he has Lei on his shoulders.Link,being nimble and quick,ran as fast as he could.
When he took a round about,he sneaked up behind Rhett and tackled him to the ground,causing the two,including Lei,to tumble down the grass.
The three erupted in laughter as they sat up,but that didn't stop there.Link scooped up a mud and placed on Rhett's face,causing him and Lei to chuckle because of what he looked.
"Ohhh..you wanna play dirty huh? We'll play dirty then!" Rhett exclaimed and scooped up a handful of mud,placing it on Link's face and throwing one at Lei's direction,causing her to raise her arms and shrieked as the mud made contact on her arms.The three erupted in a mud-throwing fight,shrieking and laughter filling the air.
The three played under the rain until the rain stopped.Tired,they laid down in a circular way,their heads meeting one another,hands placed on their stomachs,their muddy faces facing the cloudy sky,out of breath.
"We should DEFINITELY do this AGAIN!" Lei exclaimed,chuckling.
"I have to agree to that,even though if it meant getting dirty,I wouldn't mind." Link chuckled along with Lei,feeling the happiness welling up inside him.
"Can't say anything anymore.Lei took out the exact words I was about to say" Rhett said,causing them to erupt in another laughing fit.
"I'm so happy I get to do this with you guys.." she said,yawning and stretching her arms a bit.
"Alright,that's enough fun for today,we really should clean ourselves up." Link said standing up.
"Yeah,we really should." Rhett agreed,standing up.He gave Lei a helping hand and she took it,standing up as well but never letting go of his hand.
"Yeah,as much as that was fun,I hate getting my hair caked in mud" she chuckled,grabbing Link's hand with her other hand.
"Let's head inside then!" Link exclaimed.
The three headed inside,their hands linked,swinging it back and forth.
Knowing the three of them,they are best of friends with the other falling for the other,but...in this moment,if you looked at them from a different angle,they look like a happy family heading inside their home.
A/N: I always kinda thought of Lei being a some sort of a daughter for Rhett and Link,because just thinking about it makes my heart a flutter and I don't know why,it just popped out,you know! ^_^ Anyways,hope ya like this chappie~! ^_^
