At Night...
It was nighttime at ESU as Mr. Connors is giving a lecture to Y/n, Peter, and Gwen while the mechanic is busy with the machine connected to the tank.
Connor: In nature, everything is connected. As scientists, we explore and expand upon those connections... to the benefit of society.
Eddie: We're experimenting with genetically
altered electric rays and eels.
Pressing a nearby button, Connors walk to the tank and used a metal hook to pick up on of the eels from the water and showing to everyone.
Connor: Think what it would mean if we could harness this bioelectricity... generate an alternate form of energy: a new, clean source of power.
Y/n: Mean less use of fossil fuels for now on.
Connor: Exactly.
Peter: It sounds great, but you might wanna clean the tank.
Peter tab on the tank seeing how dirty and green it is.
Eddie: It's clean. The fluid-- I call it sludge. Increases the eels' bioelectric signatures.
Connor: Yes. In fact, those very signatures
have become so intense... we've been forced to upgrade the lab's bioelectrical filters.
Max: We've been forced?
Connor: I stand corrected. We're forcing Max, here, to upgrade.
Max: All I'm saying.
Martha came up to the group with her son as he looked tired.
Martha: Curt, I need to get Billy to bed.
Connor: Sorry, honey. I lost track of time.
Martha: You? No. I'm shocked.
Connor: I have to wait for Max to finish, but you go ahead, take Billy home.
Martha: You might send Peter, Y/n, and Gwen home. It is a school night, doc.
Connor: Right, right, right. Go on, you three.
Y/n: Later, doc.
Then the three teens leave the lab together just in time for Peter phone to start ringing as Y/n playfully rolls his eye knowing who it is.
Peter: It's my Aunt May early-warning system. I have to call if we're not home by 10.
Y/n: We got in trouble yesterday because Peter forgot his shoes.
Gwen: Oh, that's explains it.
Peter answers his phone as the three continue their way toward the subway entrance stairs.
Peter: Hey, Aunt May. Sorry for running late. We just left the lab. Me and Y/n gonna make sure Gwen gets home safe, and then we're on our way.
Back at the lab...
Connors is seen experimenting with lizard DNA when he heard drilling before hearing grunts noises as Max is struggling to pull out the fillet from the machine.
Max: Come on.
This causes the drill, he places on top of the machine to fall down on controls causing it to spark. Max goes in to reach for it only to be electrocuted extremely and send flying back hitting the tank and destroying it. The electricity from the eels made it worse with the whole lab glowing and scream of Max in agony.
Max: AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!
