It's 9 A.M on a tuesday morning, the sun is shining through the window, and I can hear the busy streets filling up with people.

Sitting down in my favorite cafe, waiting for my tea. Seated in a boot in the corner with the manuscript I'm translating and my laptop, I can smell the coffees, teas and pastries filling up the cafe. I take a deep breath and let all of those scents fill my nostrils. As I close my eyes to take in the beautiful day ahead of me I get startled by a videocall from my sister-in-law.

I put in one of my earbuds in, so I wouldn't disturb anyone by putting her on speaker.

I take her call and smile to the camera as I see a little head popping up.

"Marraine!" (Godmother!) I smile and wave to the camera of my laptop.

"Coucou mon petit loup." (Hello my little wolf.) I see my godson waving back at me and pull my sister-in-law in front of the camera.

"Regarde maman, c'est marraine!" (Look mommy, it's godmother!) I wave at my sister-in-law.

"Salut, comment vas?" (Hey, how's it going?)

" Ça vas et toi? Tu t'es déjà un peu habitué à Los Angeles?" (I'm fine, and you? Have you been getting used to Los Angeles yet?)

I smile and shrug my shoulders. " M'y habituer c'est beaucoup dit, mais le fait qu'il fasse beau tout le temps, ou pratiquement tout le temps ça aide un peu. " (Getting used to it is a big word, but with the weather being beautiful all the time, of nearly all the time helps a little.)

"Sadie!" I look up, at the barista who yelled my name. I sign to my sister-in-law to wait a second.

I get up and go to the couter to go and get my order. As I walk to the counter the door to the cafe opens and two young women –who I suppose are sisters by the way they look like each other- and a handsome young man walk into the cafe. I feel like I have seen him before, but have no idea from where. As I look at him with a frown on my face, trying to remember where I had seen his face before the two women look at me and the taller one looks at me with a cheeky smile. " Sadie? " I snap out of my daydream/concentration and look at Jenna the barista holding my order in her hands. "Your order is ready. " I give her a smile, take my order from her hands and give her the money.

" Thanks Jenna, keep the change. "

" Uhm, thanks. Are you sure though? " She raises her eyebrows, money in her hands.

" I'm sure, don't worry about it. Keep the change. " I give her a sincere smile and a wink.

I turn around and nod and give a smile to the two women and the man. As I turn around, I hear My nephew crying in my earbud. " Juju, tata est là petit cœur, attends deux secondes. " (Juju – Nickname for Jules – untie is here love, just a second. ) I hurry to my booth and set my breakfast down onto the table.

I sit down and look at my sister-in-law holding my crying nephew. In the corner of the camera I can see a person standing next to her. " Jim c'est toi?" (Jim, is that you?)The person lowers down so I can see his face, showing it indeed is my brother.

" Salut, alors, comment vas? À part du petit qui pleure. " (Hi, how's it going? Apart from the little one who's crying.)

" Ça va et toi? " (I'm fine, how about you?)

" Ça va. Plus chaud que chez vous je suppose." (I'm good. Warmer then you guys I suppose.) I shrug my shoulders and smile.

I take a sip of my tea when I see a person standing close by in the corner of my eye. I look up and see it's one of the two women that came in not too long ago.
