Falling for Novogratz

Chapter 14

*beeep* *beeep* *beeep* *beeep*

I wake up and groan, turning my alarm off. I practically didn't sleep last night. I'm an insomniac and haven't slept a good night in like seven months or so.

I look at my feet when I feel a weight on my legs. 

Of course, the little monster needs his food.
I get up from the bed and he jumps off, immediately running to his feeding bowl.

I proceed to give him his wet food, he'll get his dry food in an hour or so. If I give him everything at once, there would be nothing left after two hours.

I then take a quick shower, leave my hair to dry, hoping they won't turn into a frizzy mess. I dress, a little more sophisticated then I did tuesday, after all this is going to be an actual interview.

I put on deodorant, brush my teeth and spray a little bit of perfume before applying mascara and go on to put in my contact lenses. I take the first one and let two drops of contact fluid fall into my contact before I put it on my left eye. I grab the second container and open it when the doorbell rings. SHIT. I shut my right eye and look at the time on my phone. I still have fourty five minutes before the interview.

My right eye still closed I rush to the front door and look through the peephole.

Damn, he's early. And looking good I must add.

I look around to see where my cat is at and then open the front door, only to see Wolfgang standing there looking like his handsome self.

He chuckles and I motion him to get inside.

" Hello dear sir, come on in. "

He looks at me with a amused face. " Are we having a unprompted pirate moment? "

I frown my eyebrows and look at him like he's talking Mandarin.

" What? "

He shakes his head laughing and points to my closed eye.

" Your right eye is closed. I thought maybe you were getting ready for a pirate themed thing and I didn't get the memo. "

I roll my eye and shake my head, walking to my bathroom with him following behind me.

" I was putting in my contact lenses, I was about to put on the right one when you rang the doorbell. "

I go to my sink and take the open container, take the contact lens out, put some fluid in it and put it on my eye. Great, now I won't look like I'm going to a pirate themed thing anymore, and I'm not half blind anymore. I blink a few times, and look in the mirror, to see if my reflection is acceptable. 

Meh, good enough for now.

" You look just fine, don't worry about it. "

I turn to see Wolfgang leaning against the doorframe, looking at me.

Toffee walks into the bathroom, but not before sniffing Wolfgang's feet, which earns him a chuckle from Wolfgang's part. He walks over to me, rubbing himself against my leg and I bend down, petting him softly. " I know baby, I'll give you your kibble. "

He meows in return and walks out the door, but not before rubbing himself onto Wolfgang's leg.

I raise an eyebrow in surprise. Well, okay then.

" You okay Sadie? "

I snap out of my thoughts and look at Wolfgang. I nod and shrug.

" Yeah, yeah I'm fine. Uh, I just didn't, well, uhm expect him to rub against you. "
