*OLIVIA'S P.O.V*
Wow.
Just Wow.
This boy, this amazing, beautiful boy, had just kissed me. It was only short before I reluctantly pulled away, but he seemed... disappointed? This made me blush ridiculously and giggle as I pulled away and rested my head on his shoulder, he wanted to kiss me for longer...
I smiled to myself as I replayed the moment over and over to myself as I walked up the stairs to the second floor of the warehouse. George decided to have a sleep now that I'd woken up, so he was resting on the mattress. He'd been asleep for about 30 minutes, and I'd only just moved from watching him. He was so utterly gorgeous. I am positive that if I wasn't the last girl alive right now, I wouldn't have a chance with him.
I sauntered around the floor, nothing exciting was up here. There were some boxes full of food and blankets in the corner, a few empty cans and some shelves full of tools... weapons. It made my stomach churn as reality hit me once more. This wasn't a romance between me and George like I'd fascinated, this was a war against us.
I still hadn't asked George were he got that gun from, I guess I knew the answer. He would have probably grabbed it from a one of those scary gun shops before retreating here once he had figured out what was going on.
I shuddered, looking at the shelf of defences: silver knifes, 2 guns and a large sword. Wow, he was prepared for this! I debated with myself for a second before picking up the smaller gun from the shelf. It was small, not very heavy. I had no idea how to work it, but I guess if I was going to survive, I would have to learn some time!
As I was admiring it's framework, a loud bang came from the wall next to me. The small window that had been covered with a panel of wood... was being broken down.
"GEORGE!" I screamed, I saw the things arm smashing the glass to pieces and slipping it's arm under the panel, searching frantically for anything to touch.
How the fuck had they gotten up to the 2nd floor!?
My mind was racing, my breath heavy. "GEORGE!!!" I cried again, not taking my eyes off the window. I could hear masses of groans and moans from outside the building, obviously lifting this one up to the window. For mindless zombies, they were actually pretty fucking clever!!
I panicked for a second, thinking what to do.
Obviously!!! I looked down at the gun in my hand, rose my shaking arm out and closed my eyes tight. I was about to press the trigger when a hand knocked it out of my grasp, pulling my body close to their own.
I yelped, tears streaming down my face. I opened my eyes, to see George looking at me with worry and concern. "Don't shoot them!" He whispered, pulling me down the stairs, his left arm around my back with his other arm pressing my head gently into his chest.
I was still shaking as George carefully sat me down on the mattress, that was still warm from when he was sleeping here.
"Stay down here!!" He whispered before kissing my forehead and running back up the staircase.
*GEORGE'S P.O.V*
My heart missed a beat as Olivia's cries woke me up. I instantly thought the worst.
I didn't waste a second before jumping off the mattress and darting up the stairs, following the sound of her scream.
She was wincing whilst holding a gun outstretched towards the window. They had found us.
"Shit." I muttered to myself before running to Olivia and quickly knocking the weapon out of her hands. It didn't surprise me how much how body was trembling, she buried her head into my chest for safety as I rushed her down the iron stairs.
If someone needed to get rid of them, it has to be me. But, I can't shoot them. The sound attracts more of them to come, meaning a whole army of monsters waiting outside the building. So, I had to get Olivia to a safer spot before getting rid of them another way.
After setting her on the mattress to calm down, I hurried back up the stairs. They had broken the panel of wood in half now so I could see their face. It was a horrible light shade of green, drool dripping from it's growling mouth and it's weak arms lashed out at me.
I dodged them as I grabbed the broken wood off the floor under the window. It grabbed my shirt, pulling me back against the wall... hard.
"Argh!!!" I screamed, batting away at it. I felt it's grip loosening as I kept moving frantically and hitting away it's cold, slimy hands. "HA!" I yelled, once I was free and stood up facing it. It was still snarling at me and lashing out.
I was about to whack it, when a gut - churning scream rang though my ears coming from downstairs. My head whipped round as I ran to the barrier. Olivia was pressed up against the wall, holding the metal rod she'd brought with her close to her chest. I glanced to were she was staring to see around 3 zombies breaking down the door.
Shit.
"HOLD ON, LIV!" I yelled, she looked up at me, fear and tears in her eyes, and nodded. I whizzed back round to the zombie trying to get into the room. Half his body was now over the window ledge as he attempted to slide into the building... No Chance!
"GET OUT!!!" I growled, lashing at it with the wooden panel. It groaned at me, it's arms outstretched, but falling weaker by the second. I continued to whack it harder and harder, it's body falling limper and limper. I finally brought my foot up and pounded it's skull with the sole of my converse. I was victorious as it took it's last groan before falling back out the window.
"BYE!" I yelled, waving mockingly out the window. I took a step back instantly as I saw how many of them were out there. Around... 500. 500 monsters around 1 warehouse waiting for 2 people... this won't end well.
"GEORGE!!!!" Olivia cried. Shit! I cursed and flung my body back around, before racing down the steps. She was in the corner, crouched down as the first zombie entered the room.
Then, the other 2 piled in afterwards.
I stopped dead in my tracks...
