Chapter 8

*GEORGE'S P.O.V* 

We all stood there, looking over the destroyed streets of London. Before, it would have been an amazing view; people rushing in and out of shops, the London Eye moving freely, Big Ben standing tall and powerful. But now, there was no people, the Eye was rusty and still and Big Ben had fell down. A pile of bricks and ash replaced it. 

"How do we get down there?" Jaymi asked, looking down to the ground. There were zombies going in and out the door, obviously searching for us. I looked around to see Olivia's head fall limply onto JJ's shoulder. I tensed up. Why did I have these feelings for her!? Every time she looked at one of the boys I got protective and jealous... I just don't know why. 

"We ab-sail." I said. Everyone looked at me, Olivia's head lifting up instantly. "With what!?" She asked, staring down to the ground. "And, even if we did, they'll catch us at the bottom." She said, her head shaking. 

I kicked the wall in sudden anger, everyone's heads turned to me, eyes wide. "DO ANY OF YOU HAVE A BETTER IDEA!?" I yelled, looking at each and every one of them sternly. They all took a step back, my eyes burning into them. "DO YOU!?" I yelled again, this time focusing my anger on Olivia. 

She took a step back, gulping and shaking her head. "Mate, calm down-" Josh said, coming over to me. I scoffed, "CALM DOWN!? WE'RE ON A ROOF WITH FUCKING ZOMBIES WAITING FOR US! DON'T TELL ME TO BE FUCKING CALM!" I screamed, batting his arm away from me. 

They all stood there, watching me as I ran over to the other side of the roof. There was a fire hose wrapped up in a glass case that was fitted onto the small wall surrounding the roof. I kicked it, grunting with every move of my foot until the glass was fully smashed. I un-raveled the hose and tied the end of it around my waist.

"GEORGE!" JJ screamed, running over to me, followed by the others. They were all shaking their heads in dis-belief at my actions. What the fuck was I supposed to do? Wait for those things below to leave!? They'll never give up. 

"What do you think you're doing!?" Jaymi hissed, trying to untie the hose. I pushed him away fiercely. "I'D RATHER DIE TRYING THAT BE STUCK UP HERE WAITING!" I yelled. That wasn't fully true. I wished I hadn't started this. I really wish I would have agreed with Olivia that it wouldn't work, but the anger just took over me as I tried to prove a point to her. 

"George, mate-" Josh begged but I cut him off. 

"NO! I'm doing this!! Someone has to try!" I said. "Now, hold me up." I instructed as I went to the edge of the roof. Nobody budged. I knew it was a stupid idea myself and that I was wasting my time, but... I wanted to prove to Olivia that I would be the one to save her. Not JJ. 

"I'm doing this with or without your help. But without will take longer." I said, begging them with my eyes. "Come on." JJ said, grabbing the hose and supporting my weight. I gave him a quick smile and nodded in thanks. Jaymi and Josh reluctantly joined him. 

I was about to climb over the wall when 2 arms flung around my neck, a body getting onto my back like a piggy back. "Oliva, no!" I hissed, trying to get her off. She gripped tight around my neck and her legs snaked around my waist securely. 

"You're not doing this alone." She whispered into my ear. I smiled, her tone seemed defiant, just like mine was about doing this. I knew nothing could persuade her to do otherwise. 

"You sure, Liv?" JJ asked, concern in his eyes. I felt her nod. JJ's eyes fell, Josh's and Jaymi's had tears in their eyes. "Be careful, George. We just got you back." Josh croaked, before lowering us down. 

"Hang on, Liv." I whispered as we were halfway down the building. She nodded, and re-joined her sweaty palms with each other around my neck. I let out a sigh of relief as my feet touched the ground, Olivia gently slipped off my back and landed on the ground. I untied the hose and shook it so Josh would pull it back up. 

There were no zombies around the back of the building, so we had to be extremely quiet not to draw attention to ourselves. I saw Jaymi wrap the hose around his waist, leaving Josh and JJ to support him down. Me and Olivia held our breath, scared to even breathe. 

As Jaymi landed, we let our breath out silently. Olivia gave him a hug and so did I. "Wait..." Jaymi whispered, sending the hose back up. "How will they get down? There'll be one left." Jaymi whispered, his eyes drooping. I heard Olivia gasp. 

Shit.

 "Don't worry... I-I'll think of s-something." I stammered, running my sweaty hands through my hair. We hadn't time to think, we all stopped dead as a lifeless groan could be heard from round the corner, getting nearer and nearer. 

"Quick!!" I hissed, Josh was being lowered down. He got to the ground and JJ pulled up the rope again. "What about JJ!?" I whimpered, looking back up to him but still listening out for the groan. "He's gonna ab-sail properly." Josh said. 

"Oh, God..." Olivia sighed, burrowing her head into my chest. I wrapped my arm around her securely and watched JJ sit on the edge of the roof. He tied the rope around his waist and gave us a quick nod before turning his back to us. He placed his feet flat on the wall whilst keeping a firm grip on the hose and making his way down the wall. 

He did it!!!

"JJ!!" I whisper - yelled, grinning at him. Olivia lifted her head up and smiled at JJ as he untied the hose. We were about to do a quick group hug, when the groan came again, this time... closer. 

I turned my head round, to see 2 Zombies stood facing us, drool running down their cold cheeks. It's so hard to believe that they used to be people, just like us. "Shit." Josh hissed, turning the other way. I followed his eyes and saw 3 more Zombies on the opposite side. There was no way out. 

Both side exits were blocked by them, behind us was the building and in front was the high fence that surrounded the factory exept from the front part, but to get there, we had to go through the 3 zombies...
