chapter 7:The date.

Leah stood in front of her locker taking out her books with one hand and texting with the other
Leah:where are you?
Vivienne:I am in the school compound just trying to find  a place to park. Vivienne replied she was about to text her a reply when a voice brought her back to reality
"Hey leah " a boy said , he was a member of the basket ball team too
"What's up"she turned back to her locker
"i was just thinking if me and you can hang out this Friday " he grinned
"First of, it's you and I not me and you.secondly I thought you were dating carla"
"We broke up last night"
She scoffed "so you are that kind of guy " she rolled her eyes, then looked back at him only to catch him staring at her boobs
"i really want us to hang out , I have been meaning to ask you for a while now " he said but his eyes were still glued to her boobs
"Next time you want to ask a girl out try looking through her eyes instead of the through her shirt, you hot blooded pervert " she glared at him
"Okay-"vivienne stepped in immediately she came, holding leah's hands " we are going to go now"she dragged her away
"What the hell man!"leah said
"Okay what's wrong?"
"Nothing I am just on my period"
"That explains it, come on I'll keep everyone away from you? "
Vivienne laughed as they both walked to class.
          Vivienne had to work on their drama set alone because leah was in the nurses office, she became so pale after 3rd period she had to rest.she had her earphones on because immediately she walked in the girls started talking about her.she had her head down as she diligently worked on the job, her hair was covering her sight from everyone else.she felt her hair being pulled back from her face and gently tucked behind her ears, she slowly looked up scared of who it might be but instead saw brad looking down at her his hand still on her ear.
"Uhm..."she tried saying then she glanced nervously at his hands and he must have taken it as her not wanting him to touch her when all she wanted was exactly that.
"We haven't spoken in a long time vivienne " brad said
"And who's fault Is that? "She looked up at him "-sorry"
"It's okay, I tried talking to you but you usually just walk out on me"
"Actually I run off because I am usually a nervous train wreck " she thought but didn't say."You need help with maths again?"
"No I Uhm was actually thinking if I could help you with this " he looked down at the wood.
"i got it under control. Thanks"
"Yeah you'll have it under control if you were making a table but you a making a crib " he smirked.
"Does it look that bad?"
"Yes! Yes it does .but lucky for you I am great with this stuff " he looked into her eyes.
"Okay, let's do this " she smiled back at him.
"This is really stressful. You'd have to pay me for my hardwork, ".
"sure, what do you want?"
"I'll think about it"
"Hey so um, you forgot about our deal"
"I thought you forgot about it"
"Why would you think that?"
"Because you never look at me long enough to see if I am smiling or not"
"i do!"
"No you dont"
"it shouldn't matter, you should have still done it"
"It wouldn't have mattered considering the only person I wanted to smile at wasnt even watching " he blurted out. They both sat there for a few seconds just staring at eachother
"i should go"
"You are doing it again"
"Doing what?".
"running away"
"You don't know what you are talking about"
"You know what, I know what I want my payment to be.i want to take you out on a date tonight " he said" there is no running away now " he stood up and walked away.
           Vivienne and leah were lying down on vivienne's bed after school.leah had her eyes closed and vivienne was stroking her hair trying to make her sleep.leah just had a major menstrual cramps and they were waiting for the drug to set in "
"So something happend at school today"
"What?"
"i think brad asked me out"
"Think? Well what were his exact words"
"i want to take you out on a date tonight " she repeated brads words.leah immediately open one eye
"Are you mentally challenged vivienne?" She asked with a serious face .she was  100 times bitchy now that she was on her period " what part of that sentence was unclear to you?"
"i just - don't think I wanna go " she said
"Okay no problem " leah said "Hey,  can you give me your phone i need to call my mom"
"Sure Yeah " vivienne gave her her phone and went back to her thinking.
Vivienne:I would really love to go on a date with you. Pick me up by 8?:)
"Wait a minute! Your mom is dead!!"
"You are on the roll with being dumb today you know?"leah said before closing her eyes and trying to go back to sleep.
"You little. ..." vivienne tried saying but the buzz of her phone stopped her she looked down and read a text
Brad:that's so awesome. Can't wait.
"......bitch " she completed her sentence then gave  a loud long sigh.
"If you want to look slightly presentable you better get to work "
"Shut up, slut!"vivienne yelled at her, but the only reaction she got from her friend was her adjusting her sleeping position and a smirk.
         Immediately leah opened her eyes from her deep sleep she saw all kind of junk food beside her? She looked up at vivienne who was staring at herself in her make up mirror " thought you might be hungry when you wake up " vivienne said
"Have I told you how much I love you recently?"leah grabbed a chips bag and tore it open
"if you love me so much you could come help me look nice for my -my date " she said
"Alright " leah stood up and walked towards her " for someone who doesn't take care of her hair yours is quite silky"
"i take care of my hair!"vivienne defended
"Yeah, right " leah smirked " Where is your curling iron?"
"In the bathroom, under the....."
"Yeah I know "
"Then why did you ask?"
"Leave me alone!"she grumbled.
           2hrs of making up , teasing eachother and breaking into a cat fight they finally finished dressing vivienne up " what time is it? "
"7:50 " leah said
"I still have 10 minutes to stuff my face"she picked up a donought "so you got any advice for me? Like maybe always laugh at his jokes, always agree with whatever he says..."
Leah stopped eating her food halfway through " Why would you do that?"
"What do you mean?"
"You are the prize here, not him.you don't get to fight to please him he is supposed to Please you"
"Thanks but....."
"No buts! Does the treasure go after the pirates?"
"No"
"Then why would someone as amazing as yourself try to please a guy"
"Leah...."
"He doesn't get to win something so amazing easily, and if he doesn't know that or treat you like a treasure then he isn't worth your time " she said . vivienne immediately jumped on her and hugged her tightly " Thank you leah."
"I didn't do....."
"Thanks for being there. You are my best friend"
"You are my best friend too " leah hugged her tight " please don't cry, I didn't put a water proof mascara on you.i guess i should have " she joked
"Oh shut up " vivienne hugged her tighter.they both heard the door bell ring and they immediately pulled away
"He is here " they both chorused and when they realised what happened they broke out laughing.
"Fix your make up, you goof. I'll go answer the door " she hugged her again before running down the stairs.the door bell rang again " coming! "She and Ashton chorused together, she looked down and saw him coming from the back of the house where the basket ball court was and he was Shirtless ,she almost fell down the stairs when she saw his sweaty body and abs. They reached the door thesame time but she opened the door and he stood just behind her, she was so nervous because she could feel his hot body and his breathing was still rugged.
"........pick vivienne " she got out of her trans state but the only thing she heard was a few words from brad.
"Pick her to do what?" Ashton said with his usual rude tone.
"A date " leah sprung around to look at Ashton but she came face to face with his hard chest and she slowly peeled her eyes off his chest " he uh- he is taking uh vivienne on a date"
"With whose permission? "
"Um Ashton can we talk in private for a minute?"leah shoved him backwards " Okay here's  the deal, viv has liked him for  a very long time and he is hot and good for her and best of all he is good TO her.it took a lot of courage for her to do this just let her"
"You think he is hot?"was the only thing he asked.
"Well I uh h - he -vivienne thinks he is hot and I think he is hot too"she said " a little " she completed
"Okay, she can go"
"Thank you"she ran up the stairs to call vivienne.
"Okay! Let's go " she yelled at the scared vivienne.
"Leah could you stay and wait for me Till I come back " vivienne asked.
Leah wasn't planning on going because she wanted to hang out with Ashton but vivienne didn't have to know that " i don't want to , but for you I will " she said
Vivienne broke into a smirk and walked to get her bag " first thing I learnt about you leah, you never do what you dont want to"
"I. ..."
"i know you and Ashton have a weird thing going on"
"We dont"
"Just a favour.if you two ever have  sex I don't want to know and be careful okay he is 3 yrs older than you which means he is better at this and more experienced. I don't mean to spoil my brothers name but I have seen him break a lot of girls heart some camp in front of the house for days begging and crying and he just stays in his room hooking up with some other girl " leah's face immediately fell " i don't want to see you like that babe " vivienne hugged her.
"You don't have to worry about me I'll keep my distance " she said and she meant it she was not the kind of girl that was stupid enough to think that she could change a guy.
"Okay, wish me luck " vivienne smiled before walking downstairs.
  "Hey " vivienne hugged brad immediately she got downstairs.
"You look amazing " brad pecked her gently which made her blush a lot."shall we?"
"We shall " she smiled and took his hand
"Hey uhh-"Ashton said looking up the stairs " is leah staying here?"
"She is waiting up for me " vivienne answered
"Cool " he smiled " take your time"
"Okay"she held the door knob "stay away from her or i will sew your pee hole shut " she threatened, Ashton smile immediately fell and he looked sick " Bye big brother " she smiled and shut the door.
"If I seat right here and she comes down to watch TV with me it counts as staying away right? "He turned up the volume of the tv so she could hear it.
        "So where are we going?"vivienne asked
"Uh, I was thinking we could have a picnic " he pointed at the back seat of his car which had a basket filled with food.
"That sounds lovely " she smiled.they drove to a lake and set up on a bench just beside it.
"Did you make this?"
"no" he looked down disappointed "but I watched while they cooked .I think i am good at it now, I'll make the next meal"
"Next meal?"
"Shh dont tell vivienne " he joked and she blushed. "I planned something like this for you before"
"Really when?"
"I am such a dork"he joked "The day before I gave you the necklace, I asked you to meet me at the park remember? And you never showed"
"i remember. And I showed but you looked like you were on a date with sheryl"
"What?"
"And some days later I heard you guys started dating so I was pretty sure it was a date just wasn't sure why you would want me on your date"
"i was waiting for you and sheryl came by and was being her usual self I tried to send her away but she just wouldn't go, and it was actually because of that romantic picnic I 'planned for her' that the stupid rumors about us started"
"Rumors?"
"Yeah, they weren't true."he took a deep breath " i really like you vivienne, I guess I always have and when I heard you were tutoring me I was so excited! with you everything is easy i get to be myself around you, I get to smile ,get to be happy and you- you understand me and I really love your smile " he held her hands "and you are so beautiful " he smiled " say something " he touched her cheek when she didn't speak after some seconds . immediately rain started pouring hard and it was right on time because she stood up and started running " you don't have to run so fast, it's just rain " brad yelled as he tried to pack the meal.
"Yeah that's why I am running.....The rain " she thought sacarstically. She wanted to go back and help him with the stuffs but she was too nervous.she sat in the car and waited for him to come back
"Some of the food didn't make it " he said immediately he came in.
"Sorry for running off like that " she said embarrassed
"With you, I am used to it"he smiled he jumped to the back seat and brought out a big, thick blanket" come here " he said to her pulling off his shirt and she surprised herslef when she went to the back with him.he pulled off his shirt and pulled her in to cuddle " i am really cold " he said when he saw her hesitating, she smiled and wrapped her arms around him.now they were cuddled up with the blanket on them.
"So what's the real reason you ran off like that.because I know it's not the rain"
"Yes it was"
"I've seen you dance in the rain before, you love it " he placed his hand under her chin and gently lifted it up " what's wrong?"
"I got scared"
"Of me?"
"No-kinda"
"I understand if you don't feel thesame way I just really wanted you to know"
"You are a big jerk for that statement " she said
"What did I do"
"I've only liked you for the past 5 yrs " she said in a sassy tone.
"What?well you have a weird way of showing it because you always made me feel invisible"
"Well you didn't even......"he immediately bent down and kissed her and she kissed him back too .They both lost themselves for a while.
"it's not a fair argument with you looking incredibly beautiful with your wet hair"
"it's not a fair with you being shirtless " she smiled
"Good point " he bent down and kissed her again.she had been dreaming about this  for a very long time but it was far better than she ever imagined his lips were incredibly soft and he was a really great kisser. "i took a lot of cold showers when you were tutoring me " he said in between kisses, and she burst out laughing " it wasn't funny at the time always dreaming about my hot tutor looking at me for more than a second "he kissed her neck making her giggle " i am hungry " she blurted out and they both laughed "Let's eat princess " he pecked her then brought out the remaining surviving food.
         Leah layed on vivienne's bed watching a movie.she stood up and looked out the windows and saw it was raining "atleast they aren't outside right?"leah said to herslef.she heard a knock and the door opened up few seconds later she turned back and saw Ashton standing by the door.
"Hey, what are you doing?"
"Just watching  a movie"
"Ohh, you could come down and we could watch it together"
"I am fine up here"
"Okay, do you mind if I join you?"
"Actually I do"she said
"Uhm okay.sorry for bothering you.he turned back to leave and she turned back to the windows "actually, why dont you want me around i thought you liked hanging out?"
"i know the kind of guy you are Ashton, the kind of guy that likes a quest and all and I am just not up for that"
"My kind of guy? Look who is stereotyping me now?"
"i am not stereotyping you. its just facts"
"Facts?wow, okay. Bye leah " he walked away shutting the door behind him.  
        She went downstairs and into the kitchen after an hour to get more snacks and saw Ashton in the kitchen making a snack for himself. They both didn't talk to eachother and avoided eye contact completely.she poured milk into a cup and walked towards the island table just as he was about to walk out of the kitchen.they bumped Into eachother and her milk spilled all over him " i am so sorry " she tried dabbing at it but he just hit her hand away " forget it."
"There is no need to be such a jerk about it!"
"i dont want you touching me because I am that 'kind of guy' deal with it " he spat out angrily
She looked up at him in shock " you are an ass " she threw the napkin at him and tried walking out but he drew her back, wrapped his hands around her waist and kissed her she tried pushing him off but even she knew at the back of her mind that she wasn't using her full strength
"Maybe just a second more " she thought wrapping her arms around him, he picked her up and  placed her on the  table as they continued kissing.he held her so tight like she was going to run away if he let go and it felt really good.
