chapter 17 :selfish?

Leah was sitting on Ashton's bed going through the booklet and pamphlet for the colleges of her choice.the door opened up and Ashton walked in, looking tired but sexy. His hair had grown out more and the front part toppled close to his eyes which often clouded his eyesight
"Hey baby" he layed on the bed and exhaled tiredly
"Hey"she moved her face close to his laying body and placed her lips on his "you look tired.want a massage?"
"No, thanks" he rolled over and his big body fell on her tighs,immediately he made contact he stretched out his hands and hugged her tightly "what's wrong?"she asked
"Remember that professor I told you about?"
"The reptile?"
"Exactly"he smiled up at her
"What happened ?"
"There was a girl in class I tutored , and so today he was teaching a topic that I had already gone through with her but my method was a little different from his and she pointed that out to him-her first mistake - anyway he freaked out when she told him I was the teacher he got even more angry and said he doesn't need ideas from dumb blondes like her"
"That's rude!"
"I know !!and I called him out on it and you know what he said?"
"What?"she stroked his hair
"He said if I had been good enough to get into MIT I wouldn't be in his class playing hero"
"He is so wrong because you got in"
"He just keeps spreading rumors about MIT rejecting me"
"Well you'll show him when you start MIT next year"
"That's if they ever reply.i have enough credit to graduate from school right now but I am waiting till May for the sake of MIT .i don't want to go out of school and realise I didn't get accepted "
"You will"
"What If they hate me for the last time?they probably have it out for me.....I can't stay idle .its like my curse I have to do something or I might run crazy"
"Or you could tear apart our electronics and put them back" lead joked
"Childs play.i did that 6-11"
"Wow. " She smiled and he smiled back at her
"You are so beautiful " he said looking up at her in an awe struck manner
"Thanks" she kissed him
"So what is this?"he picked up a pamphlet "UCLA? Really?"he asked
"Yeah I like california"
"Why do you want to go so far?"
"I am not going far, this has always been where i wanted to go"
" so what about us? " He sat up
"What do you mean what about us? We would still be us" she tucked her hair behind her ear
"Not when you are far away" he replied
"you were going to MIT ash, what did you expect me to do? I have to live my life too"
"You could come to MIT with me"
"And do what there? Huh? You'll be in a lab all day and I'll be doing what? ....is that really what you want for me?"
"I want to be with you"
"And you don't care if it's my future you screw over for that to happen?"
"Why are we fighting!"
"Because you are very selfish Ashton! That's why" she yelled again
" I am just thinking about our future"
"Our future wasn't an issue when you decided BY YOURSELF to go to MIT and I didn't hold you back!"
" what do you mean 'by myself' ?"he used his hand to air quote.
"You only told me about it when you had made your final decision.you didn't even consult your family"
"I can't believe this! You were the one who encouraged me to go to MIT"
"Because that's what you wanted. I thought about what was best... for you!!!"she continued yelling
"Now I am thinking about what's best for Us!" he yelled back
"No you are thinking about what's comfortable for you!"
"You told me you would be happy anywhere as long as I was there"
"And I meant it! but I am not moving to massachutes.what about you? Why can't you go to caltech? Why do I have to be the only one to sacrifice for our future? "
"The two schools are totally not the same"
"Yes they are!!!atleast I am not telling you to drop out of school"
"That's not what I am telling you either"
"it doesn't matter what you are telling me .because either ways you are being really selfish.and I need to be alone" she stood up, picked up her books
"Leah .babe come on" he called but she ignored him and kept waking on . She opened the door and walked out.
"Shit! "He pushed some pillows off his bed.
