chapter 9:The prank.

Leah hadn't spoken to vivienne all day because she was with brad and they were both really big on PDA. Everyone was so shoked but leah wasn't sure if they were shoked about the fact that brad was smiling or that he was dating the school geek, either ways it was nice to watch people stare in envy at vivienne.
"Hey " vivienne walked up to leah.
"Hey superstar " leah winked at her " Let's go sit and you can tell me all about brad while we eat."
"About that..."
"What's wrong?"
"I can't sit with you"
"What? Too cool for me?"leah joked
"No!"vivienne chuckled " it's just brad wants me to sit with him.he wants me to get to know the guys.i hope you are okay with that"
"I just really wanted to talk to...."
"Hey girlfriend " brad wrapped his arm around her and gave her a deep kiss right in front of leah and everyone else standing in line."have you asked her?"
"Yeah, she is cool with it"
"Actually I never. ...."
"Thanks leah " brad said  before taking the blushing vivienne away.
".....said that " leah completed.she walked to the usual seat she shared with vivienne and sat there , she wasn't welcomed at the cheerleaders table for now because she blew them off on the first day.
"Wow.this is really depressing " she said to herslef.she heard her phone ring and picked it up
"Hello " she answered
"Come outside now.i have a few things to say"
"Ashton?"
"Just come! "He said then cut the call.
"No way in hell buddy " she tossed her phone across the table " can you believe this guy. .."she looked up and realised noone was there" on a second thought. .."she picked up her things and walked out of the cafeteria.
         She walked out of school and saw Ashton leaning against his car waiting  "God he is so hot" she thought. "Ashton what are you doing here?"
"Let's get in the car "he said before getting into his car and she followed him in.it was quiet for a while as they just sat in silence listening to maroon-5
"About this morning..."he said deciding to break the silence
"It Okay"she said, she really didn't want to talk about it, she knew if he said anything remotely cute her decision will crash.
"No you were right i can be an ass sometimes"
"Sometimes?"she smiled and he smiled back
"i am an ass but I am not a liar, and I tell the girls up front that I don't want anything serious and they are okay with that"
"is this supposed to help?"
"i wish I had a really good reason for why I am like this, I wish I could tell you some chick broke my heart and I decided to protect my heart but it's not that "he stared at her "the truth is I never really learned to let anyone in and I've been fine.its been Okay " he ran his hand through his hair and bit his lip like he was trying to decide if he should say anymore.
"It's okay " she assured him
"I really like you leah.you are smart and pretty and funny and you eat ALOT!! and I really want to be with you but if that's not what you want then..."the bell rang and distracted him from his confession.she looked at the building then decided what Ashton wanted to say was more important then looked back at him but he wasn't looking at her " Ashton? "She called his attention,he looked at her and when he did she noticed the look in his eyes was gone.
"You have to go right?"
"Yeah, but we are still talking right?"
"No we are not"
"Don't do that"
"Do what?"
"Crawl back into your dark, lonely cave Ashton! "
"i don't know what you are talking about " he looked away.she had his chin hard and turned his face back to her.
"Look at me!"she stared into his eyes " if I leave....I leave ashton" his eyes were so cold they reminded her of the first time they met
"Then go"He said with a bored look.
"You have to let someone in Ashton...but I am not going to wait until you do"she let his face go and opened the door she took longer than necessary because she was waiting for him to hold her back like in the movies but it wasn't a movie and he didn't hold her back.she practically ran back to school and into the toilet to cry she didn't even know why she was crying, things weren't that serious with him but for a moment she got a glimpse of what her future with Ashton would have been and it was everything she ever wanted .she was alone so she freely sobbed loudly and what hurt more was that noone was there to hug her and tell her everything was going to be okay.she wasn't sure how long she had been there but she was tired of crying and decided to come out she walked a few paces and saw everyone gathered in front of the girls locker room with their phones ready.
"What's going on?"she asked th nearest girl to her.
"Sheryl pranked some girl and stole her clothes.she is totally going to have to come out naked"
"Wow " leah rolled her eyes "what did she do to deserve that"
"She is dating brad " the girl laughed
"What?!!.....viv.where is brad?"
"He and the guys went out with the coach"
"Oh no " she walked to the door"
"And where do you think you are going judas? "Sheryl said
"To help my friend! What the hell is wrong with you?!!"
"Step away from the door"
"If you don't let me go through. I'll tell everyone what happend at Julian's party"
"You wouldn't"
"Let me through sheryl "
"Fine! Whatever .There is nothing you can do to save her either ways " she laughed.leah rolled her eyes and walked in either ways.
"Viv?!"
"Leah!"she followed the voice and saw vivienne rolled up into a naked ball.
"Viv"
"I am so cold Leah " vivienne sobbed.
"It's okay sweetie " leah sat beside her and hugged her tight
"Your voice sounds weird .have you been crying?"
"No"
"That's your after cry voice.i heard it when you finished talking to your dad on the phone"
"I am fine " she assured her
"I am so stupid!!what made me think i belonged at the popular table"
"You don't belong there because you are so much better and sheryl is just  jealous, she has had the biggest crush on brad " she tried cheering her up but it didn't work.
"i don't want to go out there " vivienne sobbed more.
"You don't have to " leah stood up and pulled off her gown.
"What are you doing?"
"We are getting out of here"
"But..."
"Just wear my gown"
"All you have is a pant and bra"
"And i look hot in it and besides it's lace"
"There are cameras out there! Your dad is a senator. If he sees this....."
"My dad isn't an Internet person " she smiled " just put it on"
"Thanks " vivienne slowly put on the gown
"Okay let's go " leah tried putting on a brave face but she was so scared. Immediately they stepped out the cameras started clicking and people started laughing but leah kept her head held high and walked out with a smile " like what you see boys?"she winked
"Tramp " sheryl said.they both walked outside the school and the most embarrassing part of it all was that Ashton was still there and he seemed to have just finished fixing his car.
"Ashton help!"vivienne said
"What happend?"he opened his car to let them in.peolpe still tried to take pictures but the windows were tinted .
"They stole my clothes and leah gave me hers " vivienne said
"I can see that. That's going to get on the Internet, why would you do that?"he asked leah but she ignored him and looked at vivienne instead
"You have a test next period.go."
"You expect me to write a test with no underwear?"
"Everyone does it " she winked " just go! I'll go home with Ashton okay?"
"Okay.thank you so much " she hugged her tight " i love you"
"I love you too.now go " leah chuckled
"We'll talk about what you were doing at my school later " she said to Ashton before walking out
"Are you okay. .."
"Drive!"leah ignored him again
"Okay " he said and started driving she tried to keep a brave face but the sound of their laughter and clicking of their phones just kept ringing in her ear and without knowing she burst out crying. her dad will give her alot of grieve about this . Ashton stopped the car and jumped to the backseat and tried enveloping her in a hug
"Get off me!"she tried pushing him away " i am fine!"but he just squished her in harder until she caved and sobbed on his chest.
