Normally, I do not make it home till six, but today, I decided to go home early since I finished all my work and had the engagement party to my long-time boyfriend Lewis tonight.  I was saving up money to go to college since my mom's new husband refused to pay for me and even though my mom had her own job she agreed with him that I did not need to attend college.  Of course, they did not want me to go so I could help Melody, my stepsister, out with her homework.

Yes, ever since my mother got remarried, Melody has been her priority because of her husband.  According to her, if she wants to buy whatever she wants, she has to side with him.  Little did they know I received a full ride to Harvard.  The money I was saving was for my moving expenses.  I had rented a storage unit and had been moving my stuff there for the last month.

The best part of not being on my mother's radar as long as I did  Melody's homework was that she didn't know that most of my stuff was already gone.  Lewis didn't know I was attending Harvard since my acceptance letter was sent to my paternal grandparent's house.  They knew everything that was going on and had informed my father.  Before you freak out, my father wasn't the bad guy.  It was my mother who cheated with my stepfather.

The only reason I was not living with my father was because he was overseas working and wanted me to attend school in the States.  He didn't want to uproot me during my senior year.   I also didn't tell Lewis about me moving to Boston because I knew he was cheating on me with Melody. Yep, my stepsister is having an affair with my fiancee.

Boy, are they in for a very rude awakening when I let everyone know what they are doing.  Let's see how wonderful my mother thinks Melody is now.  Once I throw everything in their faces, I will be leaving with my paternal grandparents.  So my stepfather doesn't do anything to me for embarrassing his precious little girl.

I took my time getting ready, and it wasn't long before Lewis arrived to pick me up.  Little did he know or my mother that the bag I had to supposedly spend the night with Lewis was the last of my stuff, and I was not going anywhere else with Lewis again.  We walked into the restaurant holding hands.  His parents had rented out the whole place for tonight's party.

When we walked in, everyone clapped as Lewis led me to our chairs.  I looked a little perplexed that Melody was sitting in my seat.  I was just going to ask what was going on when Meldoy yelled get your hands off my fiancee bitch."  I looked around "What are you talking about."  Lewis let my hand go and hugged Melody kissing her full on the lips.

They smirked at me as Lewis spoke up "I have been seeing Melody for the last year.  Why would I want to be with an infertile woman who will not produce any heirs?"  My grandparents' yes grandparents from both sides were smirking.  I looked at my mom, and she did not seem surprised at this revelation. "You knew."   "Look Katrina they fell in love, plus Lewis can't inherit unless he produces an heir.  Seeing as you are infertile, I don't see the problem with him marrying Melody."

My maternal grandparents looked at my mom "Sharon how can you be this cruel to your own daughter?"  Melody smirked "Well Katrina needed to learn that I am better than her.  She needed to understand she never should have had Lewis, and she is nothing but a bottom feeder. I will, however, let you be the maid of honor for my wedding."

I shook my head. "I will never be your maid of honor nor will I ever do your homework again."  My stepfather stood up and went to slap me, but my grandfather stopped him.  They glared at each other, and my mother looked at me. "If you don't do as we say, you will have nowhere to live and nothing to your name."  I looked at her "Really Mom."  "I already discussed this with your father, and if you do not agree, you will not ever be let back into the house, seeing as you are already 18."  Melody jumped up "yeah, you stupid whore."
