SIX YEARS LATER

After that day I did slowly let my mom into my life but one fateful night she took off with 10 thousand dollars her husband had in his safe. She was able to figure out his combination. The only explanation she left behind was a signed divorce document.  Her ex-husband apologized to me for her leaving without a word but I told him I was sorry.  I explained that I had a feeling she would disappear once she realized he wanted us to be a family.

He told me he understood if I didn't want him in my life but there was no way I could do that because I loved his daughter like a sister.  Plus she got along so well with David and Ana.  He did meet a nice woman and they treated me like a niece and I couldn't be happier with my relationship with them.

Mr. and Mrs. Lowenstine did hit some hard times when Mrs. Lowenstien went on a spending spree.  So, she was given a budget she had to follow.  Lewis was nowhere to be found because he disappeared one night.  All he left behind was a letter stating he couldn't watch Tristan happy.  He also refused to work for Tristan so he applied and found a job across the country.  He still held a lot of animosity toward us for about a year.

He was addicted to social media and would complain about how I married his brother.  All that did was have someone repost the video from the engagement party and the meeting we had the last day everyone was together.  He eventually stopped posting since none of the comments were in his favor.  When he returned for his grandparent's funeral we were introduced to his wife Lucinda.

Old Mr. and Mrs. Lowenstine passed away in a freak accident that triggered Tristan's parents to contact him.  They thought they were going to get most of the estate and were upset when they found out that they were given only 10 thousand dollars.  It was stated in the will they were given that amount to ensure no one could contest the will.

Lewis didn't even try to get anything but he was given his 10 thousand dollars and told if he could prove to be an asset to the company he might be able to inherit more.  He just shook his head and told Tristan I don't need anything.  With the money I had, I started a company of my own.  I now understand why Grams and Gramps were so mad at me for my behavior.

Lewis apologized to me and told me what he did to me was terrible and that he never should have let himself be convinced to destroy me.  He also admitted that his cheating on me with Melody made him think he could cheat on anyone.  His wife chuckled until his last girlfriend dumped him in the middle of a mall when she caught him with another girl. Lewis shrugged and admitted that his car, phone, and watch all had GPS trackers.  He admitted he volunteered to use them so his wife would know he loved her.

Melody ended up being married off to a rich guy who was even tougher than her stepmom.  The only reason she was married to the man was because her stepmom caught her stealing her jewelry to sell.  Melody was given a choice to marry the man or go to jail.  So, she picked to marry the man.  Thinking he would let her buy whatever she wanted.  Like I said he was tougher than her stepmom.  She could not go anywhere without a guard and couldn't even buy a coffee without his permission.  His reasoning was it would teach her responsibility.  Plus she had to help out the staff with household chores.

Satan ended up in jail when he tried to break into my house to make me pay for everything that was happening to Melody.  He still blamed me for her troubles.  He claimed if I had stayed home like I was supposed to and accepted my fate as her slave she would still be married to Lewis and living a life of luxury.  He went ballistic and tried to attack me in court when he was told that the Lowenstines had changed their will since before Melody and Lewis got together.

Charles and Fleur got a huge surprise when they returned after mine and Tristan's wedding and that was that Marcel and his wife were expecting.  They were so happy to have their first grandchild on the way.  Shortly after that, everyone got married.  Boy did we put the miles on the plane for every wedding?
