KATRINA'S POV
Once, my dad and Tristan returned all of us piled into the different cars, placing the dishes in the back of all vehicles. Tristan made sure that I rode with my dad alone. He told me it was so I could spend quality time just the two of us before the get-together. Once alone, my dad told me about his conversation with Tristan and how he was impressed that he was willing to be completely open with him.
I smiled, happy that my dad was impressed with Tristan. I didn't want to disappoint him because he is the only parent I have left. It didn't take us long to reach Charles's house, and we soon made our way inside. Once there, I was in for a big surprise since not only were Tristan's grandparents and MIndy there but also mine. I looked at my dad, and he smiled "Yes baby girl, they wanted to spend Christmas with you but knew you were not ready to go back home."
My gramps smiled "Plus it is not safe right now for you to return. We would all worry if you were to return those disgusting individuals would do something to hurt you or keep you home. Your so-called stepsister is freaking out and has been throwing temper tantrums all over town." I raised an eyebrow."Why in the world would she do that?"
"Well, no one will tell them where you are. She is more than likely going to fail out of college, plus she has been embarrassed at some high-end boutiques when she takes in friends. Seems that she gathers a bunch of stuff and lets her friends gather a bunch of stuff, but once she hits the register and is rung up, she is told she no longer has an account there."
I shake my head. "Oh, I bet that is tons of fun to watch."From what we are told, it gets ugly. She has had to be removed from the premises by security. Once, even the police were called. She has not accepted that the accounts she used are all now closed."You guys are wicked."We haven't closed all the accounts yet. Just the accounts at the high-end boutiques." My grandfather draped an arm over my shoulder."The accounts we had were meant for both of you. Hell, your father opened some of them, and she was the only one who used them. Your mother called furious that I closed the accounts, and I told her I only opened them for you, and she started spewing how you didn't deserve those accounts."
"The both of them are not happy. Any accounts that were open for you are now completely closed. Your dad opened four accounts for you to buy special occasion dresses." "Dad I can tell my daughter." "Wait did mom know about them being from you?"No, your grandfather was the one that handled them. He would receive the bill and pay it. None of us knew it was that vile creature using the accounts."
My grandmother smirked. "This explains why the accounts at Boot Jack and Cavenders were never used." I look at Tristan's grandparents."What about your account?"Well, we are doing the same closing the more expensive accounts first. I was not happy when I found out my son was allowing that girl to use the family money for her spending sprees. Hell, she spent eight thousand dollars one time in just one store."
My dad smiled "Well enough of this heavy stuff, it is time to eat."Crap the enchiladas. I need to finish off cooking them." Fleur laughed."Lace put them in the oven for you and told me they only needed about five more minutes, and they just finished."
Smiling, I thanked her, and we were soon around the dining room table. I kept thinking about how everyone was supposed to stay here with Charles. I just had to ask and found out that the grandparents would stay in the guest house since there were three suites. Everyone else would be staying in the main house.
My paternal grandpa laughed. "Sweetheart, this way we don't make anyone go to bed early."Ah, gramps, you don't need to go to bed early." Charles shook his head "Trina sweety. Remember, they have been traveling today. They are going to be tired. As for your dad and Mindy, more than likely, Mindy will hit the hay early while your dad stays up late because he wants to spend more time with you."
