Prompt: There is a race to get off the dying planet Earth, and your character would do anything to get their family out.

Harley Bronson sat down by the edge of the bridge for her short break. 7-minutes, but enough for her to regain her energy. behind her she heard several workers and people moving to and from, off and on the SSE Blade. The grand spaceship recently discovered in the region. there have been repairs conducted in the mostly functional ship for 5 months now, and Harley had been working on it for all of them as an engineer.

Well, she wasn't so recognizable as that, her clothes ragged and dusty like those of almost everyone else working on the ship. There were dozens of engineers here, but she was assigned to the main controllers of the SSE Blade, and that was a big deal. A lot of work, everyday without fail, sunrise to sunset (when you can see the sun, anyway. The clouded skies in the past year made it harder and harder), but it paid well.  A couple more weeks and that would be it. SSE Blade ready to leave planet Earth, or what's left of it along with other spaceships found across the world. That would be a large chunk of the Earth's population.

6 of these will be her, Giles, Charlie, Uncle Marshall, Aunt Matilda and her old Grandfather  Dixon. Hopefully.

No, definitely. It was a contract, the same that fuelled everyone else here. Anyone who helped in the fixing of SSE Blade was promised a seat on board along with as far as 4 more family members. Uncle Marshall worked there too, focused more on the ship's outer layers. Charlie was helping Aunt Matilda by delivering food stocks and such to stack in the ship. They were all on board, they had to be.

'Man did you hear?'

The conversation caught her ear in the middle of other's buzzing. For some reason, she listen to the two male voices talking.

'Hear what?'

'They're limiting the passenger areas in the ship, they think it wouldn't take everyone at once.'

'What?! You're telling me we might not be in?!'

'Who knows? On the last day, it's all about who comes first now.'

The two finished their conversation waling away from Harley, but she'd heard enough. Nope, that was not happening. It can't. She's not going to let all her efforts go in vain. She was going on that ship, and everyone's coming with her. From the little Giles to old Grandpa Dixon. And she knew exactly how  to get everyone on board once the SSE Blade is ready.
