The terrible weather came to a stop at the Dinoco station. Storm had his family members place on the better tires.
"Hindra, darling?"
"Yes, Jacks?!" She asked.
"How would you like to go visit the next state over, Arizona?"
"Really?" She asked.
"Well, I was thinking of asking Cruz if she'd let us tag along."

Karth and Blazer were teaching each other how to turn into the mud that was outside the garage.
"Keep your mouth shut, Blazer, it is really hard to mud out of an engine if it flies up at you."
Blazer laughs. He turned perfectly well on new tires. Storm was proud of his boy learning to listen to others if only one had given him that opportunity when younger maybe he wouldn't have been so ignorant and arrogant but physically he had never been a dirty racer by literally knocking cars into crashing. There was good in him way more good than could ever be found in Chick Hicks on tv. He strolled over to Mr. King and his wife and Cruz who talking on the sidelines.
"How's the tires feel to you, Storm?"
"Best tires ever, they feel better than ever, Cruz." Storm answered. "I was wondering you're all heading over to Arizona—" he faltered.
"You wanna tag along with your family?" She guessed. She knew he got nervous around her as his formal former rival.
"Yes, may we?" He finally asked.
"Absolutely." She answered. "Numbers are better on the interstate if we go in a big group. Still some bully cars around, but with you in the gang they may not disturb us at all, Jackson, you can be quite glaringly terrifying as a sheriff car is."
"I think she paid you quite the fancy compliment there, Daddy." booms Blazer with his motor.
"I think she did too," said Mr. King. "You know I heard the Good Sheriff in Radiator Springs been a bit lonelier than usual. If you straighten yourself out you may be able to become great companions with him as the rest of his neighbors."
"Maybe that might be a good idea take a few days off from your race coaching job and do a sideline job as a junior sheriff deputy you have the grits for it." Hindrance told her husband.
"Why didn't you tell me that before? That I'd make a better cop than a racer?" He asked his wife.
"When I was your girl you were too busy racing and chatting with the paparazzi to do any one on one time private talking with me you sure did love to gloat back then, Jacks."
They got each into their respective trailers. Karth and Blazer were in one together. Jackson Storm and Cruz stayed outside enjoying the passing scenery while Mr. King and his wife and Cranny rode in the other trailer.

Sally woke their family up in the Cozy Cone immediately after a phone call.
"Ow! Sally, love, you nearly blasted my eardrums out!" shouts McQueen.
"Stickers, you won't believe it, Cruz is on her way here with racers. Jackson's coming with her.
"Mom, why did you honk the horn clock so loudly in the dark," moans Speed. "It's not even sunrise yet."
"Oh, shush Mister, junior." Sally said. "It's not time for hyperboles. You don't want competition of your sister's to think you're a clust do you? Lightning will you get his sister up while I make him wash his coat."
"I am not that dirty, Mom. I wash every morning and night." whined Speed. Lightning laughs.
"Then why do I see dust on your hood and tires, youngster, I know you're lying to me, son." Sally reprimanded him immediately.
Lightning bumps his daughter's right side with his left when he went into her cozy cone.
"Sun's gonna be up, darling." he whispered. Tiranne opened one eye blinked it shut, yawn and then opened both eyes at the same time and blinked and opened them again she was wide awake now.
"Is brother behaving like you again in your grumpy Days, Daddy?!"
"Hey!" McQueen exclaimed. "Daughter, that's not nice."
"I know, but you know I'm right."
"I'm teasing, child, my sweets, remind me all you like. I love to laugh about who I was back then. By the way Cruz is on her way here, with Storm, Tiranne." said Lightning. "You know that, sweets."
"Sure do, Pops." answered Tiranne. "It'll be fun to meet competitors have you noticed Speed's been helping the sheriff in the early mornings more lately fixing traffic signs and other things up? I think he figured out what he wants to do with the rest of his life. I think he wants to be a sheriff."
"Well, this town could use an extra one so our Sheriff can have some of the fun the rest of us get to go to too." agreed Mcqueen. "Let's fuel up and get meal time out of the way before the guests arrive and don't blurt anything out, Tira to the neighbors."
"Of course, they don't know Jackson as well as you and Cruz I am aware. I won't say anything to anyone especially Granny Lizzie she'd be the most likely to get crazy about rivals in the town."
Lightning laughs.
"You're on a roll, daughter." agreed McQueen.
