3 days in a row, the case was the only cause of a migraine for Archer, being a detective was his biggest mistake or that's what he thought, he was effervescent on the announcement of being called at Fredrick Ville's Police Department, he was still studying and that was like he had hit a huge milestone in his journey, until, it wasn't as easy and shiny as he thought it would've been. Investigations are the only part of time he felt useful and rest at the procedures and forensic disputes, he felt numb as if he had never signed for this and all his parents' money went down the river like a mere paper melting rapidly. A hand laid on his arm, he swirled back with his feet wanting to give up at his futility in the department yet Mr. Nelson never rubbed that on his face all he would say was you have a long way to go Archer, fruits don't grow overnight. He would laugh at that while he reviewed his overall performance why would you trust me so much and Mr. Nelson would sway his hand chortling.

"Are you investigating him Mr. Nelson?" Gabe, Mr. Nelson's nephew asked, Archer envied him at how he was not stuck working as a police officer and living the life of Archer's dreams, how he was just a year older which didn't stop him from inquiring the people.
"Very funny dear, keep those aside during the interrogation."
"When did I? Archer does that." He winked his pink cheeks wrinkled as he smiled.

They had an interrogation, cheers to another failed day as an officer and aspiring detective. Unless he finds a back-up, discipline a pick-pocketer or the night walk to the isolated bus stop, very efficient he thought.
"Sit down Archer, this might be a slick case," Mr. Nelson said flicking the ironed edge of his suit.
"Gabe might get drowsy." he added eyeing offended Gabe, but Gabe was useful, his funny mind did quantify complexity of cases. Sighing, Archer finally sat on the chair and Gabe's hand came forward holding a piece of file.

"The Grays, the supreme business sector holders, they are said to have almost every kind of business and all..." Gabe's brown eyes met Archer's heavy lids.
"Flourished, some of the members named Cally Tipton and Joanna Gray are the promising angel investors."
"Joanna Gray?" Archer raised his eyebrows even though he had interrogated Mr. Jared 3 days ago when William was murdered
"Jared Gray's daughter."

"William Gray was killed," Mr. Nelson said, his tone never lost the sanity. Archer inhaled revering Mr. Nelson's attitude and sat tall and confident fruits don't grow overnight for savoring the taste we have to wait and sit back watching things unravel.

A dark silhouette emerged inside the walled room, his steps were heavy as he stood under the table light or what Gabe and Archer called the torture light.
"Sit." Gabe said and the posture sat down revealing his hazel eyes that for a moment they looked like a thin glass. His hair were dark almost raven yet had recessive brunette in those. He sat blinking with no action.
"Who was William Gray to you?" Mr. Nelson tucked a tight breath in and Archer didn't got the reason behind it until the raven boy spoke, his voice brittle.
"Willy was my brother, my younger brother." he answered as Archer noticed the redness around his eyes corners and the way they got moist again hearing William's name.
"We're sorry for your loss Cole, but was there anyone who you think might have a hand in this?" Gabe asked and Archer saw Mr. Nelson glance at him, he should speak as well he thought. The raven boy's eyes glistened.

"Many." Simple. ONE WORD and he didn't talk for another 1 minute. The loss was unbearable even though he wanted to become a Detective he had this approach to never drain the aggrieved with painful queries yet it was all a part of their job, all to find their culprit. Gabe wasn't wrong, his approach might be swift but it was his way of handling cases.
"And..." Gabe shook his head,
"There was a phone call, but I would like if you do not mention it to my family." Gabe turned to Mr. Nelson who nodded.

"Who was it?" Archer asked, he found his voice again and clenched his fingers under the table.
"A song," the raven boy stared at table and maybe his voice got a little heavier than before.
"About a flower." he said glancing at Archer who cleared his throat, if you don't want to get stuck then speak, speak he fought and straitened his posture.
"Jisoo's?" Gabe's lips curled up as he almost went for the signature step. Archer could see Mr. Nelson kick Gabe's leg under the table.

"No," raven boy shook his head "I don't know." he sighed, his voice breaking when he spoke.
"The voice," Mr. Nelson's professional tone filled the room with a tension it was devoid off.
"Was it familiar to those you are surrounded by?"
"No, it was filtered."

Shortly after the raven boy left the room, a girl in a soft dress walked in the room, a handkerchief that she used to wipe her eyes and cheeks, sitting back on the chair Gabe asked the same question,

"Who was William Gray to you?"
She lift her head, the jet-black hair flowed through her sides, her eyes were big and fierce, she sobbed tugging on the hem of her dress.
"William was my boy-friend and fiancé." Archer saw the diamond ring on her finger, this had to be devastating for her, he could still remember her mother's face when the people confronted her about his father's demise, people blamed his mother for being an absent wife. They were wrong, his father hurt them and all she did was protect him.
"I am sorry for your loss, Ma'am, but is there anyone you suspect?" Archer asked as she pursed her lips clutching on her handkerchief.

"No."
"Thank you, we will call you for further investigations." Mr. Nelson concluded as she nodded.
