"Was William having a feud going on?" Archer asked, scanning her pick on her nails, she shook her head.
"Your name."
"Georgia."
"Thank you, we will call you for further investigations." Mr. Nelson concluded as she nodded. Gabe inhaled raising his hand to the door as a skinny boy with pale skin walked in, his eyes diverted towards Georgia weakly leaving the room, her feet suddenly accelerated out the door. He sat on the chair as he tried to show his oblivion to his violent trembling hands.
"Why am I called here?" he asked, the gravel in his tone was enough to make Archer become slick for interrogation.
"Harold Jones, age 19. You were William's best-friend." Archer inter-twined his fingers above the table carefully watching the sweat drop down the boy's temples. "And according to his last picture, you were present at the time of his murder."
Harold hung his head low, his shallow breathes echoed in the dim, closed room. The moment he lift his head up the tears streamed down his eyes.
"His sister, it might be his sister Joanna." he said, choking on his tears "and the asshole Cally. He might have killed William!" He said and roughly wiped his tears with his one hand, Archer squinted his eyes turning to Mr. Nelson and the fact Gabe was quiet filled him with confidence, the futility was being washed out and filled with more sense, purpose it was devoid off.
"Why do you suspect her? She's his elder sister."
"Ever since," Harold brushed his hand down his messy hair, "she got married to the asshole Cally, the greed for money took over her."
"She is wealthy enough." Gabe muttered but Harold heard it because he replied,
"It's an assumption of demand officer, the more money you own the more you wish to have, it's a never-ending cycle."
The elasticity of money is never zero Archer recalled. Wealth makes us greedy, even if we have nowhere to keep it.
"What makes you be so sure, Mr. Harold?" Archer asked, what if this was his conspiracy to ravel them into thinking he was the innocent one, wouldn't he had done this? And now wants to blame it on his sister to make it obscuring for them to solve the case.
A pause as he stared at Archer and sighed "I don't know."
As Harold left a girl walked in wearing a loose tee and cargo pants, her hands clasped together and she sat down inhaling a deep breath, her eyes were round and radiant, skin as if powdered with white sand, her hair had bangs. She lift her head up as her shiny brown hair stood still, Gabe blew a breath.
"Your name." Gabe asked, Archer rolled his eyes at the sweetness in his deep voice.
"Audrey Bell." Her voice soft
"William Gray, who was he to you?" Archer asked "As we have seen you are not in the list; you chose to be interrogated?"
"Yes officer," she gave a firm nod, her eyes narrowed a bit not enough to make her big eyes look small.
"Tell us." Gabe leaned forward as she jerked back smiling nervously,
"I work as a chef taking care of their diets, at the Gray's mansion, it's not new to hear them talk in the hallways." She began "When did you join?" Archer raised his eyebrows, not to be swayed like Gabe had been.
"A month ago, I know it's a short time but I promise the information is accurate."
"Go ahead."
"The day after William's 19th birthday Mr. Jared had made a scene," she said "he was against William being engaged to Georgia saying it was too soon, but it seemed as if he detested her."
"What did William have to say?"
"He ignored his father's order and got engaged to Georgia and Joanna the sister," she whispered the last word "I heard her talk to Mr. Jared and all I heard was Mr. Jared say If he denies my order then I deny him as my son."
Archer snapped his knuckles, shook his head and asked,
"Why would this mean that he is the one who killed him?"
"I agree, that seems groundless." Gabe's voice emerged from behind and her eyebrows raised up,
"The other day after their conversation, they had a dispute and he severely pushed him down the stairs. I only have to say this, William's murderer is either Mr. Jared or Joanna."
"Hmm..." Archer saw Gabe pass him the medical paper which mentioned the fractures in left leg and 2 broken fingers of his hand.
"Thank you so much for your time, Miss, I hope it is Miss," Gabe gave a flirty wave as she nervously turned her face to Archer.
"I am 18." Archer whirled his head at her,
"Aren't you too young to work for the wealthy family?"
"I am." Archer scoffed and pursed his lips examining the confidence she reflected in her face, words and even breathing.
"Why would they hire an inexperienced and young girl to look after their diets?" her lips curled up in a smile, she gracefully tucked the strands of her hair behind her ear.
"If you check my history, my father owned a chicken shop. William had stumbled upon our shop for so long and got fond of my cooking."
"You're saying Mr. I am the Boss Jared Gray agreed to this decision?" Gabe chimed in, air-quoting the 'THE BOSS'.
"I am sorry but you can investigate this to Mr. Jared." She said and Gabe glanced at Archer, he too looked amazed with her confidence,
"Cool, we will till then you are expected to be ready for interrogations in future."
"Sure!" she smiled and rose to her feet, drawing out her phone which had a bear cover.
"Miss. Audrey Bell." Gabe enunciated her name like a love-sick teen.
"We will call you when we need your statement again."
"Sure!" She said and left.
