"I still can't believe I was out for that long." Charlie exclaimed as he took in his first breath of fresh air in over a week.

"I can't believe you're wearing an eyepatch instead of owning that badass purple eye of your's." Scarlett replied while closing Charlie's apartments door.

The sky was black now but the streets were as bright as day, illuminated by rows upon rows of colourful lights, the red, blue and white bulbs turned the street a bright yet darker purple tint as muffled music hummed throughout the city.

"No one would even notice your eye in this kind of lighting." She continued.

"Well, what if it gets infected or something?"

Scarlett laughed at that, "aren't you supposed to be the smart one? If it looks, feels and works okay then it's probably fine."

They started towards the Jayden tower, clearly the most visible thing in London with hundreds upon thousands of the same festive lights travelling up and outlining the behemoth.

"Could probably see it from space." Charlie thought, being bewildered by the shear size of it.

Scarlett grabbed his shoulder,
"are you even listening to me?"

His mouth dropped open and hung there as he struggled to find the words, he hadn't even noticed her talking.

Scarlett continued, "it's fine, I was just saying how when we see Tank you two are gonna shake hands and make up!"

Charlie's vision flashed red at mention of his name and he suddenly felt hatred towards the man.

"Hold on, if I was out of line shouldn't I be feeling guilty?" He asked himself before Scarlett stepped in front of him.

"And you're gone again, are you sure your feeling up to tonight?"

"I'll be fine," he claimed, "besides, I have to talk to Alex about something."

They turned on to the next street, crowds of people began to appear until there was more skin and hair than road to stand on. Food and souvenir shops plated each side with most gathering dense clustered crowds to them.
The entire city felt like a giant party, strobe lights raged on in the distance as they got closer to the tower. They passed a newly built church with an old American flag hung on the walls.

He pointed towards the church, "what's that place?"

Scarlett rolled her eyes, "Those American idiots founded a religion based on the supposing gods that erupted their volcano."

"Wasn't that over one hundred years ago? Why start a religion on it now?"

"Some new evidence pointing towards supernatural activity came out last week."

"Still strange."

"Yeah it's like a mix of religions bundled into one from what I've heard."

The boom of Fireworks stole their attention as they reached the plaza at the base of the tower. A huge stage was built in the center of the plaza for a not so huge trio of musicians, the music they played sounded Irish but a crowd of hundreds were engaged with the band, dancing, jumping and drinking, Charlie felt nauseous at the sight of booze. Above the stage an enormous holographic timer counted down from what looked to be three and a half hours. The plaza was lit with the same colour scheme used in the streets and green strobe lights shot out from the main stage.

He scanned the plaza, looking specifically for the badges Jayden's team wore. Dozens of unfamiliar faces passed his gave until Alex appeared in the corner of Charlie's eye, along with Tank who was a good 20 feet to the side. They started towards them but not too quickly, they had to manoeuvre through the gatherings of drunken partygoers. He approached his good friend but before he could reach him Scarlett dragged him past the familiar face and towards a not so friendly one.
"Tank!" She called before the unit swivelled towards them and scowled at Charlie.
