After signing many, many documents describing their new jobs, Jayden addressed the room. They were standing in a huge white walled hall with voting stalls around the middle. All but one seat was filled and Charlie could faintly make out the word Henry Yonge printed on the wood of the empty stand.

Jayden began the conference. "Now you have signed, you eleven are officially my Jayden 504 to 515,"

Charlie looked at the '515' engraved on his new glass badge. The shape of the badge was that of a shield, with spikes atop. He turned and saw Alex's 505 badge and grew slightly jealous, then again why should he be? He wasn't even meant to be on this team, no powers, barely any ideas worth working on now his house was gone, most likely blown to bits by the armageddon outside.

"You will not be allowed to talk about your jobs to anyone outside of this room are we clear?" Slow nods bobbed around the group.

A second Jayden numbered '303' continued. "You will all live here in this tower in your own designated rooms and will be required to wear your badges at all times outside your rooms."

A hand raised, it was Alex's. Jayden '001' gestured towards him, then he silently pointed at his right eye, which was scorched and oozing something white. She gestured to a large woman with green highlights on the tips of her short blonde hair.

"Countraverse, this would be a perfect time for you to introduce yourself to the rest of the group."

She strolled towards him and took his hand, a green glow came from the interaction and Charlie watched in amazement as Alex's eye began to heal and Countraverse's grew a few spots around hers.

"Countraverse Magpie, one of the few healers whom heal others, exceptionally well at that. She will take roughly ten percent of the damage but within a day it'll be gone." Jayden explained.

She smiled as one of the spots popped and a trickle of blood ran out her nose, she hadn't just restored his eye but she had restored all of his injuries and even his energy Charlie would later find out.

"I-I can't take missing limbs but anything healable, treatable or curable I can take care of." Countraverse explained shyly.

The encounter left Alex looking replenished however the pupil in his right eye was gone, replaced by a tiny cubic hole in the centre of his whitened out eye. Not even the iris remained, it was as if his eye had been replaced by a chipped white marble.

Just then Charlie then noticed Aaliyah standing on the far side of the group, she looked completely fine and he wondered if this Countraverse had healed her too.

Jayden's face grew serious as she began talking again. "As some of you have probably figured out by now the meteorite that crashed into London was not normal, it was made of a material few know about we've named Invisium." She paused for '303' to continue her sentence.

"Invisium is a metal weaker than iron but is completely invisible to the naked eye unless it's been scorched, it can be alloyed into Morevisium using steel to create the glass-like metal which your badges are forged from." Everyone looked down at their badges to closely inspect them.

Jayden '001' stepped back in. "This is why we could not detect the asteroid. However this meteorite impact was nothing new to us and indeed happened before on the moon in 2965." A couple gasps came from a few people including Charlie.

"That's right, the area that founded the moon's capital, Crayter, experienced the exact same thing. take another look at your badges, notice anything strange about them?"

Charlie inspected the glass symbol, he noticed the glass was blurry and made whatever was on the other side look warped.

"Your badges are made from morevisium, we have an abundance of the stuff and are working on new ways to use it." She pulled out a sheet of the stuff previously hidden to Charlie just because he didn't notice the almost invisible... shield?
