The Void Clam

"Are we there yet?" The leader, which the group had learnt to be called 'Buck', asked like a whining child.

"No, now if you ask again I'll slam that fridge door on your fucking skull!" Aaliyah barked back while trying to roll up her wings into her backpack.

They had been travelling for half a day now, with no end in sight and the thrusters growing weaker and weaker.

"ETA?" Charlie asked Alex.

"Umm, six days and four hours." He responded.

Charlie sighed. "We need to do something, we can't just sit here floating through space at snail pace."

"Why can't we go light speed?" Aaliyah asked.

"The rear engines are fucked, the front two are only really used for steering." King Velocity explained.

"What can we do?" Five asked standing in the doorway. "This ship has no airlock, tethers or suits."

"Two of us don't need suits." Hella said now outside Charlie's body. "Three if you count Alex."

Charlie was missing his arm again, he was blind in one eye and had Count heal up the hole in his stomach, although she was now unconscious again.
"We could, but we don't have the resources if things go wrong, we'd have to shut off the hallway between here and the seating room, not to mention the engine room won't be accessible from inside."

Everyone except Countraverse was now crowded in the kitchen or cockpit, the wall between the two had a slidable hatch which was now open.

"I quite like Hella's idea," Velocity started.
"Yes it's a risk but it would bet better to get home before Jay carries out whatever plan she's got."

"I'm sorry my king but you do know that Jay is Jayden right?" Cosmo interjected.

"Yes but I'll never respect her enough to call her that." He replied.

"That's a good principle, fuck Jayden." Hella shouted, the King smiled at her.

"She always kept me locked out of her plans." Five admitted. "But I've overheard a few things about when the kill switch gets flipped so does the production facility hidden below Jayden towers."

"The production facility?" He asked.

"It's a secret area below the tower that can produce thousands of new Jayden robots in just a few days." Five explained.

"That's great information thank you." Charlie praised, trying to make her feel apart of the team. He had always wanted to crack robot sentience and if he was being honest he was kind of disappointed Jayden had done it way before he ever would've.

"If we can't get the engines working we'll have to figure out our food and water situation." Alex stated.

"I've checked, there's enough for one person to have three large meals every day for a week." Velocity claimed.

"What about water?" Aaliyah asked.

"Sixty litres should be enough right?"

"So between the eleven of us minus Five that's ten, so if we have twenty-one large meals and we half that to small meals that's enough for us to eat one meal each for four days." Adam worked out.

"More than that," Aaliyah perked up. "These two fuckers ain't eating."

Adam shimmied towards the two still tied up on the floor, he looked towards the man whose name they still didn't know.
"Firstly what's your name?" He asked.

"H-Hachi." He replied.

"Buck, Hachi, are you two gonna work with us or against us?" He queried.

Hachi turned to look at Buck, who was in his head thinking. Finally he made an offer.
