Spencer sat in his office staring at his phone, unsure how to word the message to JJ. The idea of dating her had made his heart beat faster, but he wasn't sure how to go about it. Finally, he shyly wrote, "Hi JJ, I thought it would be nice if we could meet for coffee tomorrow night. What do you think?"
The message was sent, and Spencer could practically hear his excited heart pounding as he waited for a response. A few minutes later he received a message from JJ, who agreed and was looking forward to the meeting.
However, Spencer felt unsure about how to behave when they met, especially when it came to physical intimacy. He decided to go to Derek, who was his friend and colleague, to seek advice. Derek was known for his charming and confident nature.
Spencer knocked on Derek's office door and entered. "Hey, Derek, can you give me some advice?" Spencer asked uncertainly.
Derek looked at his friend and said, "Sure Reid, what's it about?"
Spencer cleared his throat and confessed, "I've dated someone, but I don't have any experience with physical intimacy or kissing. I don't know how to act."
Derek smiled encouragingly and said, "No problem, my friend. Kissing isn't as complicated as it seems. It's about enjoying the moment and listening to your gut."
Spencer nodded, but he still felt unsure. Derek continued, "Look, Spencer, there are a few basic things you can keep in mind. Make sure your breath is fresh, be careful with your lip contact, and most importantly, be relaxed and pay attention to the other person's reaction."
Spencer smiled slightly and said, "Thanks, Derek, that really helps."
Derek patted him on the shoulder and said, "No problem, Reid. You'll be great. And by the way, let's keep the secret about who this is about. It's good to have a little privacy."
Spencer agreed and immediately went back to his office to make his preparations for the date. He felt a little more confident now and was ready to take on the challenge.
