Chapter 3
-------------~-----------------------
Eevee was more injured then we thought. Orange and I immediately carried her to Viridian Pokemon Center, where Nurse Joy told us there wasn't much hope. One thing we found with Eevee was a stamp.
Of Team Rocket.
Team Rocket had been there, tampering with my Eevee and my life. This Eevee couldn't die. She was my very first Pokemon, my partner.
Orange and I sat solemnly in the waiting room. Charmander had been sent back to his Pokeball because he 'accidentally' burned a tourist and 'accidentally' ate the emergency oxygen tank.
"Elloise Thompson?" Nurse Joy called in her sweet, sing-songy voice. Orange and I looked up at her.
"Your Eevee is accepting visitors now." I took a deep breath and entered the room. Screens with heart beat signals and oxygen tanks were all around the room. Eevee was hooked up to dozens of different cords and wires.
"Wh-what happened?" I breathed. The poor Eevee looked unkept and sad, the opposite of the little fluff ball I met only yesterday.
"It looks as if Team Rocket injured the poor little guy." Nurse Joy reports, ruffling the depressed Eevee's head. It hurt me to see how sad the ball of energy had become.
"But of Team Rocket usually tries to steal Pokemon why didn't it steal Ellie's?" Orange asks. Nurse Joy shrugs.
"Our guess is that since Ellie was away at the time Team Rocket mistook it for a wild." Nurse Joy continued, while absently cleaning the room. Orange took the news in, solemnly nodding.
"We'll have to be more careful next time." Orange decides.
"We? The last time I checked Eevee was my Pokemon." I retorted. Although I've only known him a day at the most, this kid is getting on my nerves.
"Well if you were more responsible then Eevee wouldn't of gotten hurt in the first place!" Orange throws back.
"Me?" I exclaim angrily. "What happened to your Charmander burning that man back there? Eating the oxygen tank? Huh? How old are you anyways?"
"Stop!" Nurse Joy roars. The room falls silent. Who knew the sweet girl nurse could tell that loud? Orange glares at me. I glare back. But we don't speak.
"Orange I think you better leave the room." Joy says, her voice calm and sweet again. "I don't want any bickering in front of Eevee." Orange growls and stomps out of the room. Nurse Joy turns to me.
"That little outburst could've just killed your Eevee." Joy tells me once Orange leaves the room.
"Wha-?" Suddenly, I see the room. It's frozen completely, icicles hanging over machines, snow starting the fill up the room. I guess I didn't notice. Eevee shivers, burrowing deep into her covers. A light glow comes from underneath. I don't have time to wonder what it is, because Nurse Joy continues talking.
"This Eevee could be permanently damaged. You never know what ice could do to it." Shame floods me, turning my cheeks hot. The ice slowly melts and the room is back to normal.
"Thank you." Nurse Joy sniffs. "Eevee?" She asks, petting the creatures head under the blankets. "It's okay now." Eevee pokes her head out from under, and is looking at me. In its eyes aren't hatred, or sadness, but what looks like an offering of friendship. I hope my eyes say the same thing because Joy smiles at me.

Eevee was released from the hospitals care, because after out little treaty she seems to have grown better. Joy warns me not to test her too hard though, because she could end up hurt again.
