Leila's POV:
"Are you sure you're okay?" Scott asked as we got off his bike in front of the hospital.I took shallow breaths, holding my chest in pain as I nodded, "Y-Yeah. Deaton said I'm still recovering from the fall. I just need to give myself some more time to heal."
Deaton checked my wounds and saw that I was slowly healing from the fall with the help of the medicine the man put on me.
"I still can't believe you're marrying Derek" Scott said, still shocked at the news of my engagement.
"Well, we are mates. So, it was bound to happen someday. And you better believe it because Lydia's already looking at wedding dresses for me" I told him, walking into the hospital to bring Mom dinner.
When we got in, we saw that the hospital was packed tonight. We walked towards the front desk as Mom turned to us.
Scott held up dinner and I held dessert. She sighed in relief, "Oh, thank God. I'm starving." She put the food on the desk before giving us a hug, "Thank you for bringing me food."
"Is everything okay?" Scott asked, noticing how many injured people were in the hospital.
"Except for half the accident victims in a ten-car pile-up being rerouted here from downtown, and the E.R. attending not answering any of his pages, yeah, I'm okay" she told us.
"What does not answering pages mean?" I asked confused.
"It means that nobody can find him, so now we have to wait for the on call to get here" she explained as a woman and little girl came up to Mom.
"Miss?" the woman asked. Mom turned to the woman, "Yes?"
"Excuse me, can we please have something for the pain? My daughter said that her arm really hurts and she's in a lot of pain" the woman begged as I looked at the little girl, who was crying while holding her bloody arm close to her chest.
Mom looked between the two of them sadly, "Okay, I'm sorry. I know. But actually, giving you something could complicate things, so we really just need to wait for the doctors. Okay?"
Mom helped the mother and daughter sit down in chairs. Mom kneeled in front of the little girl, "I'm sorry honey, you just have to be strong a little while longer until the doctor comes, okay?"
The little girl had a pained look on her face, but she nodded, trying to hold back her tears. Mom gave her a smile before going to the nurse's desk, "How much longer on Dr. Hilyard?"
"Ten minutes" the nurse responded.
Scott and I shared a look before he went over by the mom and I went by the little girl. "How're you doing, kiddo?" I asked softly.
She looked up at me and whimpered, "I-It hurts a lot."
I felt so bad for her and I knew I had to do something to help her. "I think I might be able to help."
"A-Are you a doctor?" she asked.
I shook my head, "No, but I might be able to take some of that pain away until the doctor comes."
"P-Please. It hurts really bad" she whimpered.
I gently placed my hand on her arm and she winced. I glowed my eyes and whispered, "Asinta Mulaf Hinto, Sho Bala." I repeated it a few more times until I saw her pained expression slowly go away and she looked at my purple eyes in awe.
"A-Are you magic?" she asked quietly.
I smiled and nodded, "Just don't tell anyone, okay? It's our little secret." I put out my pinky as she nodded happily and intertwined her pinky with mine.
