Leila's POV

I stood next to Deaton as we watched Derek, Scott, and Stiles fill up the metal tub with ice.

"Obviously, it's not going to be particularly... comfortable. But if we can slow your heart rate down enough, you'll slip into a trance-like state" Deaton explained to Isaac.

"Like being hypnotized" Isaac said as we walked towards the tub.

"Exactly. You'll be half transformed. It'll let us access your subconscious mind with the help of Leila" Deaton said, causing Scott and Derek to stop and look at me.

"What is she gonna help with?" Derek asked. I could see the worry in his eyes as he locked eyes with me.

"She's going to use her magic to help stabilize his mind long enough for us to get the answers we need to find Erica and Boyd" Deaton explained before turning to me, "This will be difficult and it'll weaken you since this is your first time doing something that involves the mind."

I let out a deep breath and nodded, "I can do it." I was nervous, but I wanted to help Boyd and Erica in any way that I can. They didn't deserve this.

"Are you sure?" Derek asked as him and Scott gave me a worried look.

"I'll be fine" I told them, but they were still hesitant.

"How slow does his heart rate need to be?" Scott asked Deaton.

"Very slow" Deaton answered vaguely.

"Okay, well, how slow is very slow?" Derek asked.

"Nearly dead" Deaton said honestly, making Scott, Derek, and I look at him.

Isaac put his hand in the water and flinched at how cold it was, "It's safe, though, right?" Isaac asked Deaton.

"Do you want me to answer honestly?" Deaton asked him.

"No. No, not really" Isaac answered as we heard a loud snap and turned to Stiles who had a long rubber glove on.

Stiles noticed our looks, "What?"

Derek raised an eyebrow at him and Stiles took the glove off as we turned back to Isaac.

"Look, if it feels too risky, you don't have to do this" Derek told him as Scott and I nodded in agreement.

Isaac looked between Scott and I before taking off his shirt and stepping into the water. Isaac gasped at how cold the water was as Scott and Derek put their hands on his shoulders and pushed him underwater.

Isaac fought their grips and came back up and roared. "Get him back under" Deaton instructed as Stiles, Scott, and Derek pushed him back under, but Isaac fought their grips and came back up again.

"Hold him" Deaton told them.

"We're trying!" Derek exclaimed before they pushed him back under. Isaac was fighting their grip until he slowly stopped moving and the guys let him go as Isaac slowly came back up.

"Now, Leila" Deaton instructed.

I nodded before I kneeled in between Scott and Derek. I put my hands in the freezing cold water and placed them on the sides of Isaac's head.

My eyes started to glow purple as I chanted, "Mal il de lui, ai malheur nuit cette san."

Once I felt I had Isaac's mind stabilized, I gave a nod to let them know that I did it. I kept my focus on stabilizing Isaac's mind and nothing else.

"Now, remember, only I talk to him. Too many voices will confuse him and draw him out" Deaton whispered to the others.

"Isaac? Can you hear me?" Deaton asked him.
