After we explained as much as we could, Stiles joined us at the animal clinic as we waited for any news about Deaton.
Stiles' dad walked up to us, "We're gonna do everything we can. Right now the best thing you can do is go back to school."
We nodded in understanding as he walked away to talk to the deputy. Scott turned to us, nodding towards the room where the cats stay.
Scott closed the door before turning to us, "We have to tell him." I nodded in agreement with him as Stiles looked between us.
"You mean, like, tell him, tell him. Or tell him something else that isn't telling him what I think you want to tell him?" Stiles asked.
I sighed softly, "You know what he means, Stiles."
Stiles looked between us, "You remember how your mom reacted? She didn't look at either of you in the eye for, like, a week."
"And she got over it" Scott told him, "And- And it actually made us closer."
Stiles shook his head, "I don't know, guys. I mean, look at him. Come on, he's completely overwhelmed as it is." We looked over and saw the stressed look on his face.
"He's overwhelmed because he has no clue what's happening," Scott said, which I agreed with, "He's got people dying in his town, the town that he's supposed to protect, and it's not his fault that he doesn't know what's happening."
"He's gonna find out sooner or later" I added. "Yeah, but is now really the right time?" Stiles asked us.
"What if not telling him now gets someone else killed?" Scott asked.
"What if telling him gets him killed, huh?" Stiles argued.
"I mean, okay, look, I get that Deaton's been like a father to you and one of the last connections you have to your birth family, I get that, okay?" Stiles continued, as Scott and I looked down. "But this is m- guys, this is my actual father. I can't..."
We looked at Stiles sympathetically as he let out a breath, "I can't lose both of my parents, all right? Not both of them."
My eyes watered as I thought of mine, "You're right." I never want anyone else, especially one of my best friends, to go through the loss of losing their parents.
Stiles paused as our eyes connected, "No, I'm not. I'm not right," he exhaled and looked away from us, "I'll tell him."
"We'll help you" Scott said as he turned to open the door.
We walked out and saw Ms. Morell talking to the Stiles' dad, "Please, whatever you need, however you can help find my brother."
The three of us shared a confused look as I mouthed, "Brother?" to the boys. Even I didn't know that Deaton had a sister.
"Will you excuse us for a moment?" Stiles' dad asked her, before walking away.
Once he left, Ms. Morell walked over to us. "Okay, listen closely, all of you" she said, looking at us, "No sheriff, deputy, or detective is going to be able to find him."
"You don't have to ask us for help" Scott told her.
"Actually, I'm trying to help you" she said, "Because, if you're going to find my brother, then you need to use the one person who might actually have an ability to seek out the supernatural."
I thought about who she was talking about when it hit me, "Lydia."

When we got to the school, Stiles went one way to find Lydia, while Scott and I went another way.
