I copy his breathing but I'm still struggling. Asher shuts his eyes and says "calm" I feel warmth
coming from his hand to my cheek it goes all the way through my body. A calm washes over me like
I've never felt before. "that's your power?" I whisper. He nods his head and right now I'm so thankful
that it is. I think I like his power, he can be my emotional support boyfriend. I snort out a laugh and
he gives me a mischievious look, bends down to whisper in my ear. I'll be your emotional support
anything sweet girl" I whip my head towards him "you can read my mind?"
He just smiles softly "only what you project to me and you just projected that, so I heard it" oh man
how did I do that? "I'm sorry, I don't know what i'm doing, obviously" I guess this is real, this is my
life now. Man would this have come in handy 8 years ago. NO, I cant think like that its not fair to me
or the guys. I still don't know how I'm going to deal with this though. He said I get my powers as i'm
around all of them does that mean if Cade isn't around me after I get them they'll go away?
I look to Ash and he's shaking his head lightly at me. He must've heard that too. how do I get him to
not hear my thoughts that's kind of scary, what if he heard me thinking about how hot he was? He
gets a smirk on his face, DAMNIT. "Ok Ash, how do I not project my thoughts to you? you don't
need to be hearing half of what i'm thinking" "i'm not sure how to explain it to you exactly. Maybe
picture some type of wall or shield in your mind and leave it there?"
I close my eyes and try it. Theres a brick wall I build in my mind and I try to keep it there. Asher I
think you have the most beautiful green eyes ever. I open my eyes and look at him "thanks yours are
prettier though" he's got a big smile on his face. UGH "dang it can't you just block ME?" the guys
are all chuckling at me and my face heats. "I'm sorry Winter, that's not really how it works. if you
want me to act like I can't hear you until you get it under control I can do that" he gives me a
sympathetic look "no" I sigh "it's fine I'll try harder" "what about this dream winter? what did you
see? you were talking about a woman and fire" I look to ryder he looks concerned "ive always had
dreams about a woman with long white hair and white clothes she tells me things in my dreams she
showed me you ryder the day I escaped" they all look to each other and something passes between
them. "the last dream I was in a field of sunflowers and they were on fire she came to me and told me
to trust you to live and love" I look down after I say the love part not wanting to see their reaction to
that "the white oracle" cade whispers.
