"You're a lot like me, in up to our knees." – Wetsuit by The Vaccines

"I think you should do it."
Lee perked up from his bowl of cereal, staring at George rather blankly after hearing his response to the news about the possibility of a school musical.
He paused chewing. "Huh?"
George shrugged, the memory of Lee belting Queen onstage at the village pub a couple of days before drifting through his mind. "I'm just saying, I think you should do it."
"The musical?" Lee barked out a laugh. "No. God, no."
"Why not?" George replied.
"Because..." Lee started, then realized he didn't really have a good reason– "because I could never. I would never. Besides, it's not even happening for certain yet."
"I wouldn't be surprised," Ginny piped up from next to George. "It'd be in huge demand, participation-wise. Plus, magic can do a whole lot for a production that size. I heard Beauxbatons has a mind-blowing theater department. Granted, they all probably sing boring, operatic style songs like the angels they are..."
"Sure, it would be brilliant to watch, but I wouldn't do it, no." Lee shook his head a few times, returning to his cereal.
"Why not?" George pressed. He would be good. He would be really good.
"George!" Lee sighed.
George just smiled, looking back down at his eggs. "You're so modest, it's annoying."
"Why don't you give it a go, Weasley?" Parvati slapped George's back on her way to sit down.
He chuckled. "Nah, I can't. Between training and classes, I wouldn't be able to squeeze it in. Besides, I can't sing a lick to save my life."
"You're a brilliant dancer, though," Lee pointed out.
George looked up, ears turning a little pink. Lee smiled.
"Well, I agree with this little monster," Parvati said, scuffing Ginny's hair and sitting down. "I have no doubt that it's gonna be put on. This school could use a shake-up in the old day-to-day."
As they continued to eat breakfast, Lee poked around his cereal bowl while the others chatted on. He chewed his bottom lip in thought as he considered George's words. And almost as if his best friend could read the boy's mind, he felt a nudge from George's foot under the table.
When he looked up, George was smiling a little. He had an eyebrow up, like he was still pressing him to do it, even without words. Lee rolled his eyes and pushed him back with his own foot under the table. George grinned at his plate.
He was taking another bite of eggs when a perky voice came from behind.
"Hi, George!"
He nearly choked.
Clara had appeared, clutching a book to her chest and smile bright as ever. Lee was stifling a laugh at George now wiping his mouth and squinting at the alarming moment.
"Uh, hi, Clara..." he managed to get out in reply.
"Sorry to startle you, there," she said, touching one of her pigtails. "I was just, well– wondering how your break was."
George inhaled and looked up at her, plastering on a polite smile. "It was great."
"Great!" She chirped. "Mine too. My parents took me to see the big tree in London square, and we saw our whole family, everybody under the sun! I have a big family, you see... I probably mentioned that before... but everyone was there, and they all had a million questions, of course– my uncle obviously had the most, being the big talker he is–"
