"Let's break it, just because we can." – Wrecking Ball by Mother Mother

George could not focus for the rest of the day.

How could he? He had just proposed an idea, an absolutely reckless, impulsive, and disastrous idea, an idea that was about to blow everything to pieces between him and Lee.

Right?

At least, that's where George's spinning mind was going as he stood amidst the rest of the students in Defense Against the Dark Arts, squeezing the wand that was tucked into his tense hand over and over and over.

George could not focus.

It felt like practicing the Shield Charm was the last of his worries right then. He was so distracted that by the time he failed at casting it once again (having quickly yet clumsily jerked his wand forward in an attempt once his Professor passed by), Wyatt was clasping a hand to his shoulder.

"Oi, Weasley, you in another world or somethin'?" He chuckled, brows knitted. George was never this distracted in class, unless by choice. "You seem pretty out of it."

"I'm fine," George forced out, rolling his shoulders back to straighten up. Don't think. Just do. Don't think about anything.

Jutting his wand forward, he snapped the incantation rather impulsively, not thinking too much. However, he soon realized he should have been centering his focus on that when the small burst of sparks emitting from his wand fizzled out into a failed attempt.

"Damnit!" He huffed.

"Weasley, take a breath," Parvati cut in, twirling her wand as she eyed the boy's flustered expression. "It's our first time practicing it."

"I'm fine," he snapped again.

Parvati's eyebrows went up. She clearly did not expect that to come out so sharply, and he didn't either, by the uneasy swallow moving his Adam's apple.

On the other side of the castle, Lee's knee bounced under his desk as he stared rigidly at the front of his History of Magic classroom.

Every one of Professor Binns' words regarding alchemy in Medieval Europe was going straight through one ear to the other, drifting off into the air and evaporating after it wasn't able to find space in Lee's crowded head.

Very, very crowded. His brain and entire body felt like it was on a carousel, which was spinning off its axis, backward, towards the edge of a cliff.

That pretty much summed it up.

Even Angelina was taking notice as she sat beside him, sitting forward in her chair to nudge him with her elbow. Binns was far too focused droning on in front of the chalkboard to notice any note passing or whispering after all. Plus, they scored a back row desk.

"You okay?" She mumbled. "You're all jittery."

Lee silently cursed himself. Was it that noticeable? He put a sharp stop to the knee-bouncing and realized he had been wringing his hands on the desk surface.

Keeping his eyes on the front, he slightly shook his head as if to brush off the concern. "Just... just fine."

Angelina eyed him suspiciously, definitely not believing him but not wanting to push it as his friend. Lee could tell she wasn't going to when she looked forward again, settling in for more of the riveting lecture Binns was offering.

Lee had given up on getting the thoughts out of his head. He was overthinking everything.

But how do you not in a situation like this? George asked to have sex with him.
