Chapter 56 - Kean...

"I like you Y/N..."

A boy stood in front of you hands clenched tightly to a small envelope. It was plain white with just a heart shaped tape piece holding it together. He was so nervous you could practically hear his knees clicking against each other.

"Why-" you asked plainly. It was a simple question that you had genuinely wanted the answer to, it wasn't like he was unattractive. In fact he was considered the more attractive type in your middle school. All the girls wanted him, some boys too. He was perfect in every sense of the word. He was taller than most guys at school, had wealthy parents, was good at school sports, had amazing grades with a perfect smile to tie it all up into a neat little bow. He only lacked one thing. A quirk.

"Well uh, you're great," He locked eyes with yours. His smile wide but nervous as he began losing what confidence he had tried to gather up to have this conversation with you.

"But what makes me so great?" You asked still looking from his eyes to the envelop back to his eyes. Something wasn't making sense to you. For the most part, you weren't his friend, you weren't even close. You had your circle, Izuku and Star, and he had his. "We've had only one project together what makes you think I am so great?"

He was a bit taken back by the question, he stood a little bit straighter cleared his throat and answered without missing a beat, "You are so powerful."

With that everything had finally clicked, he didn't like you, he only wanted to be with you to boost himself up. He was no different than anyone else in the school.

"You would make such a great hero someday with such a powerful quirk, and with what they say 'can't beat them, join them"

"Excuse me-"

"Y/N-"

You slowly opened your eyes, the locker lights stinging your eyes just a little a familiar voice bring you back. You sat up straighter noticing it was Kean, "Oh hey Kean- what are you doing in the locker room?" You asked a little bit happier noticing your brother was there for you. 

"I just wanted to check on you, I know we haven't had as much time to catch up in between your matches" Kean looked at you with a soft smile, ruffling your hair just a little. This made you smile, something so familiar that it felt unreal. "I'm sorry for earlier... y'know for what I said to your boss- it was rude of me i guess..." 

"It's alright-" 

You looked at him as if he'd lost his mind. Just a while ago he lost his marbles over you picking a fight with his boss' son, yet he's calm and collected when you disrespected the boss- the main one... Endeavor himself. It was weird unnatural and that was beginning to be a trend with the people around you. You couldn't take it anymore. Mom was being weird, your classmates was being weird. It was all just too much. Your rock, your other part of you, your everything. Your brother was being dodgy. "Kean- can you be honest with me?" You looked up to your brother, eyes pleading, "What's going on? Did I miss something somewhere? You're being dodgy, mom's being dodgy- why"

"Y/N it's not easy to explain, I am not sure where to start here, But I promise after the festival is over I'll explain everything to you." Kean pulled your hand into his. They were warm, comforting, just like old times. Yet somehow they were a little different. Cold, distant, and unsure. He gave you a determined look, "Your match is about to start, your going against one of your classmates. Aoyama was it?" 

"Yeah, I should get going then..."

HI GUYS!!! i'm back so many things have happened in the last couple years, so sos so so so so sorry for not continuing this story!!! after many request for me to finish it!!! I decided I can!! I'm on summer break and have more free-time than usual!!!!

I will try to keep up a uploading schedule!!! I would like to state as well, that I have been somewhat keeping up with the manga, and I would like to mention!! After a certain point I will stop following the series events!!! This is because I have my own plot for the characters!!! 

This chapter has been siting in my drafts for the last year and a half so i'm just going to go ahead and post it!  I want to keep it in but there's not much left for me to add to it realluy... like there is but like the writers block is HEAVY on this chapter...
