Pt.3 - MYSTERY PERSON

After a whole day of exhausting lessons Harry was eagle spread across the Gryffindor couch, he closed his eyes and slowly drifted of to sleep. He could feel his conscious self slowly drifting to the unconscious state but Harry jerked his eyes open determined not to fall asleep.

Harry didn't want to risk falling asleep and begin dreaming and cause his dream to turn into a nightmare he founding out through Ron would thrash restlessly in his sleep during these supposed nightmares. And he definitely did not want anyone seeing him thrash around like a baby and whine and mutter in his sleep.

As he forced his eyes open he sat up determined not to get too comfy and accidentally fall asleep. He was waiting for Hermione and Ron to come back from their prefect duties so they could finish their homework together before Harry left for his Detention at 8.

Harry's eyes got heavier by the second they threateningly swung low and forcibly he held his eyes open hoping with all his might he won't fall asleep before his two best friends came back.

When the common room door swung open and Ron and Hermione walked through Harry stood up relieved that he hadn't need to forcibly hold his eyes from dropping shut.

"You alright mate" Ron stifled a yawn and grinned at him, Harry grinned back and looked over at Hermione who looked equally tired, staying up all night for three nights in a row was probably not a good idea. Now Ron and Hermione were also resisting the urge to fall straight asleep on the warm, welcoming Gryffindor couch.

"What's this about Harry" Hermione asked through a quick yawn, she glanced over at the table with candles light, papers strewn across and pencils neatly piled on the side.

"Um..w-we..were gonna.. study tonight.... Right? Before I leave for my detention" he said nervously shuffling his feet. Hermione and Ron shared an equal look and they both gave Harry an apologetic look

"Err.. look Harry, we've been up all night for 3 days now and we're all tired.." Ron said in an apologetic tone, he looked sorrowful. He quickly shot a look at Hermione asking for help in the tricky situation.

"How about another night?" Hermione asked trying to sound cheery to bring the Dimly mooded scenario up.Harry shifted around on the spot nervously he didn't look up, eyes fixed upon his shoes.

"Yeah ok" he shrugged Hermione gave him a hug and a quick peck on the top of his head.

"It's getting late, G'night guys" Hermione said through yawns, she turned on her heel and walked up to the girls dormitory. Ron and Harry stood in the empty common room in an uncomfortable awkward silence.

The common room usually packed during this time was weirdly empty, probably due to the fact that Umbridge and her connections with ministry persisted that the students should have curfews of 8pm, so typically most students bored of their usual common room decided to sneak friends or sneak into friends dorms.

"Well I best be going then" Harry said pretending to check his supposed watch which he wasn't wearing, Ron who quickly casted a tempas charm looked at him.

"It's only 7:47 mate" he shuffled his feet anxiously looking at Harry, Harry quickly looked around the room determined to think of something as an excuse.

"Best if I'm not late, don't want to make Umbridge mad" he laughed anxiously and put his hands in his pocket he subconsciously chewed the inside of his cheeks worriedly, Ron muttered something like 'yeah, right' and returned the nervous laugh. Harry walked over to the common room painting.

"Uh mate do you want me to wait or..." Ron covered his face as he yawned, Harry immediately started shaking his head.

"No, no you go to bed you must the tired" he didn't want Ron to wait up for him.
And with that he walked out the common room heading for the 2nd floor to the new Defense against the dark art teachers office. Harry had seemed to realise that Ron and Hermione have been slowly but surely distancing themselves from Harry, or well that's what Harry had felt.
