The first thing you noticed was the strong urge to stretch out your body. Your back and joints felt tense, and the sheets you were tangled in were cool and soft on your skin. Your eyes snapped open as your brain registered the world around you. There were a few things you needed to address.

1. You were in a bed. You do not remember how you got into bed.

2. This most definitely wasn't your hotel room.

3. You were alone in the bed. No soulmate to be found.

Anxiety bubbled in your chest, and you took a deep breath to prevent yourself from freaking out. It was okay, Chris was your soulmate. You allowed yourself one final stretch before rising and figuring out where Chan had gone.

You turned to the nightstand next to the bed and took note of the small piece of paper lying atop your phone. The mobile device was on the charger, and you felt a smile bless your face. He had put it on the charger for you. Said smile only grew as you gently picked the note up and read the English letters scratched upon it.

'Hey, sorry for not being there when you wake up, but I have dinner plans with a friend. I went ahead and asked the front desk for a copy of the room key for you, it should be in your bag. Here's my number, please text me when you wake up : )'

His thoughtfulness made your relieved heart swell. You folded the note back up and slipped it into the back of your phone case before noting the time.

'6:42 PM' is what your phone screen read, so you figured Chan hadn't been gone for too long. However, you internally freaked out.

'OH, MY. GOD. I SLEPT WITH HIM IN HIS HOTEL ROOM. WE SLEPT IN THE SAME BED.'

You quickly find your mind drifting to its warmth, and how comfortable having his body against yours was. Nothing explicit happened, not even a kiss was shared, but every touch, every word, every breath felt too intimate to be holy. Shivers crawled up your spine as you reminisced about his arms wrapped around you.

You shook your head. You needed to formally discuss the relationship with Chris- you had no idea to what extent your other soulmates had told him or the others about you. You felt a sharp stab in your chest and an ache in your bones at the thought of Jeongin and Felix. It hadn't been long, yet your heart argued that it had still been too much time away from your newly found soulmates.

It was highly recommended that new soulmates stay close to one another for a while after uniting, but both you and the boys knew that it wouldn't be possible. You cringed at the thought of them hurting by being away from you, and it worried you sick. Quickly deciding to send them both a text, you pick up your phone once more to greet them and check up on them. You made sure they were taking care of themselves and updating them on you and Chan's situation. Both boys had laughed uncontrollably when you had called them and told the story of how you and Chan ran into each other. You had the phone on speaker, and they relentlessly teased Chan. The leader only sighed and shook his head with a fond grin. You adored the relationship he seemed to have with your other soulmates, and you felt elated knowing you were going to see that in all 8 of them.

After receiving reassuring texts from both Jeongin and Felix, you put Chris's contact in your phone. Nervously you shot him a text with your name and a greeting to let him know you were awake. You got a happy response from him and a notice that he was returning to the room soon.

A heavy sigh racked your body as you flopped backward onto the bed again. You didn't have to go in to work today but your entire unofficial trip to Japan schedule was flipped upside down and inside out. All thanks to finding your third soulmate. Albeit you really needed to have a more formal discussion with Chan. Specifically about the polycule dynamics. Anxiety coursed through you as you thought about what your presence might mean for the group. The last thing you ever wanted was to ruin a perfect and happy soulmate relationship and you'd been scared at night thinking about how your bonds with them could ruin what the boys had. You didn't want to disturb the already existing relationships but at the same time, they had all been close for a lot longer with each other than with you. You were also scared of being an odd one out, and the awkward tension that may arise with someone unfamiliar walking into a relationship. They were a tight-knit band, that was obvious from the FaceTime call you had with Felix and Jeongin.
