Stone cold

Chapter 2

After Rosie's more than awkward encounter with Malfoy she decided it was probably time she got changed into her new robes that she purchased yesterday on her very late back to school shopping trip in Diagonal Alley. After changing Rosie was about to get back to her friends when she ran into an invisible force that was in her way. "What the-" Rosie began to shout but was cut short when she got pushed into the nearest empty compartment.

After the invisible force had closed the door, Rosie was about to ask what was happening when Harry suddenly appeared in front of her. "Harry?" Rosie asked unsure of what was happening. "Shhhhh" Harry said urgently taking a step closer to her and raising his hands just bellow her shoulders. They were inches apart and Rosie found her self lost in his deep turquoise eyes which were staring down at her. Harry broke the silence by quickly blurting out "no one can know I'm here". And then before Rosie could even ask him what was happening he disappeared again leaving Rosie stood alone with an empty compartment and opened door.

DRACO
As he walked back to his compartment with the rest of the Slytherins all that was on Draco's mind was Rosie Noran. He thought about how she had changed and how he hadn't noticed her before today. As he continued down the corridor still deep in thought the hallway suddenly grew dark with a thick black mist. The shrieks and screams of students filled the empty corridor causing Draco to shudder. Once the mist cleared Draco got back to his friends and sat down next to Crabbe but a slight noise caught his attention and his head snapped up to the overhead baggage compartment where he caught a glimpse of black curly hair. Potter. He thought to himself.

The journey had finally come to an end and Draco had tried his best to restrain himself from punching Harry straight in that stupid scar. When the rest of the Slytherins exited their side of the train Draco turned quickly with his wand in his hand and cast a spell to the place he thought Harry was hiding luckily he was right and he fell to the ground the cloak of invisibility only half covering him .Draco pulled it of him and before he could stop himself his right arm pulled back and his clenched fist collided with his nose.

ROSIE
After the train journey Rosie was changed into her Ravenclaw robes and uniform when she entered the great hall with Natalie and Agnes at her side they took their place at the Ravenclaw table as Professor Dumbledore cleared his throat "welcome all-" he began but Rosie had lost interest as she noticed the absence of Harry at the Gryffindor table with worried Hermione and Ron fidgeting in their seats.

Rosie heard a small creak and her head snapped to the grand oak doors as Draco Malfoy crept over to the Slytherin table. And as though he had heard her thoughts Harry Potter confirmed her theory as he entered the hall clutching his nose that was bleeding. A lot.

As Harry sat down Ron and Hermione comforted him and Rosie assumed that they were also questioning him due to the look on Hermione's face. "What happened to Harry?" Agnes asked. "No idea" Rosie lied as she stared coldly at Draco from across the room, as he replied with a proud smirk.

Later that day, after Rosie, Natalie and Agnes had stuffed themselves full of various foods. They walked back to the common room and said the password Rowena which was fairly obvious in Rosie's opinion, who was that supposed to stop? Once back in their dorm the girls got ready for be and fell asleep thinking about the first day of classes tomorrow.

The next day Rosie dressed in her Ravenclaw robes and styled her hair into a lazy fishtail after applying her makeup and headed down for breakfast. After eating the girl got given their schedules for the day.the first thing Rosie saw was Defence against the dark arts with professor Umbridge. Great, thought Rosie, I can't wait. However despite that her day seemed pretty good day she then had double potions, care of magical creatures and Herbology.

After eating her toast she headed down to Defence against the dark arts dreading the next hour.

Once she arrived Rosie was ready to take a seat when Umbridge stopped "miss Noran" Umbrige said with a sickeningly patronising tone "I will be assigning your seats this year". Rosie stepped back shocked at how she knew Rosie's name. After Umbridge had finished speaking Rosie sat down hesitantly next to Malfoy on her left and Potter on her right, possibly the most awkward seat she could have possibly chosen ,damn you alphabet she thought to herself a she loathed the fact her last name started with an N.

Rosie shuffled over to be closer to Harry and further away from Draco who sat with a smug smirk plastered on his perfectly sculpted face which Rosie was now examining carefully until a nudge from Harry interrupted her. She turned quickly to face him. "Hey, do-" Harry started but Umbridge quickly interrupted "Mr Potter. We mustn't speak while others are speaking" she said with a patronising smile. "Sorry I just-" Harry started again but was once again disturbed "Mr Potter that's a detention for talking back to a teacher" Umbridge said sternly this time. Draco snorted in amusement at Harry whilst he gave him a cold glare in return.

This was going to be a long year.
