Stone cold

Chapter 8

As the days rolled by Rosie and Draco were the happiest they had been in a while .They were blinded by their love and everyone saw it but no one objected now everyone just kind of got used to it everyone but Sanderson of course who still glared at her but Rosie didn't care.

Draco and Rosie decided to take a trip to hogsmeade two days before Christmas break but Draco said he didn't feel well so they decided to do it the day after instead.

Rosie had been worried about Draco over the past few days he became even paler than usual and his beautiful ice blue eyes grew dark circles beneath them, but every time she asked him what was wrong he changed the subject.

Draco hadn't been seen all day and Rosie was exceedingly confused at why he would miss breakfast and lunch which was just finishing.

Rosie ran into Crabbe and Goyle on her way to the great hall. "Hey have you two seen Draco?" She asked. "Sorry Noran haven't seen him all day." Crabbe said "Yeah we thought he was off fucking you" Goyle laughed. "Piss off" Rosie said cooly.

She now had an idea where Draco was. She remembered him telling her that he often liked to hide from the rest of the Slytherins in the room of requirement. Fortunately he had also told her how to get in as another one of his safe places to hide from whatever the hell he was so scared of!

When Rosie entered the room of requirement she heard soft sobbing coming from the sofa on the right wall she turned to see Draco sat with his head in his hands. But when he heard Rosie's footsteps he looked up his platinum hair a mess and his beautiful ice blue eyes were bloodshot ad watery.
"Oh my god Draco what happened?!" Rosie asked kneeling in front of him cupping his head with her hands she kissed him softly. "I ... I ..." he trailed off more tears falling down his beautiful face Rosie took his strong hands in hers and held him whilst his tears fell.

After Draco was drained of tears Rosie pulled away and kissed him again he looked up at her through bloodshot eyes. "I love you" he whispered.
"I love you too" she replied.

But then as she took one of his strong hands in both of hers she saw it. His sleeves were pushed back far enough so Rosie could see a black mark on his skin.

She immediately grasped his arm pulling back his sleeve in a state of panic. "Rosie. Stop no please" Draco started but it was too late. By the time Draco had ripped away his arm Rosie stood tears in her eyes as she backed away terrified.

"Rosie, please, baby. No. You have to understand." he started as more tears fell. Rosie was stuttering tears falling as she backed away from him not knowing what to say or do.

"How could you not tell me!" She screamed through sobs.
"I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry." he cried but she was done listening.
"I love you so much Malfoy and this is what I get!" She said whilst breaking down in tears. Draco was just as upset as he said "I love you Rosie please I need you. Your the only good thing in my life please don't do this." Rosie saw the hurt on his face so she pushed past the pain and went to him pulling him into a tight hug "I'm sorry Draco but I'm done I'm sorry" she whispered through tears and with that she left and got about 5 meters before sliding down the wall and crying into her hands as she sat on the stone cold floor sobbing quietly on her own in the abandoned corridor until footsteps caused her to look upwards to see Harry placing one hand on her shoulder and pulling her into a hug on the floor as she cried into his shoulder.

Draco's POV

When Rosie left the room of requirement it was as though she took his heart with her he was a broken man racked with guilt, heartbreak and depression as he kneeled in between the rows of junk left in the room. It was as though he was locked away in a room with only a small ray of light and that ray of light had been cut off. So he was alone in the dark.

The mark singed into his arm with venomous ink scolded his skin and he wanted nothing more than to tear it off. But it was useless there was no hope. He was scared and heartbroken but couldn't let it show he needed to put on a brave face even though he was shattered inside.

Rosie's POV

The next morning Rosie awoke to find herself still in the Ravenclaw common room she clearly didn't make it up to her dorm last night. She quickly wiped under her eyes and headed up to her dorm to find Natalie and Agnes waiting inside when they heard her come in they stood quickly and began angrily asking questions such as, where have you been? And what were you doing?
However when another tear fell from her eye at the memory of last night they both ran over and pulled her into a tight hug. once they broke away they repeated their questions but with a more gentle tone Rosie told them that she and Draco broke up but left out why, she couldn't tell them he was a death eater and she certainly couldn't tell them about Katie Bell.

It was the last day of term so Rosie, Agnes and Natalie packed their trunks and headed for the school gates on the way Rosie felt someone grab her arm she turned to see Draco there with a cold look on his face. "What?!" Rosie asked impatiently. "Please Rosie give me a chance to explain." Draco pleaded. The look on his face melted Rosie's heart but then she remembered and her gaze turned cold. "You had enough time to explain. Its too late." she said plainly whilst trying to stay together she turned away from him and felt her eyes sting with the too familiar prick of tears but she was going to be strong and not let them fall.
