Rosie's gaze turned cold as she stared at the woman who was supposedly her loving mother. A red hot wave of anger washed through her. "Move away from him!" Rosie snarled with clenched fists. "I don't want to hurt you Rosie but I will if I have to. Go upstairs!" Serene said coolly with a hint of desperation in her voice. Rosie's anger was now fuelling her every movement. Her hands grasped her wand in her pocket, her knuckles turning white when she raised her wand to her mothers chest, "I said leave my father alone." Rosie spat quietly.
Rosie's father David pushed himself up to a sitting position leaning against the wall for support. "Ros please go." he croaked both of them snapped their heads towards him. A tear escaped Rosie's eye and then another until they were streaming down her face only making her angrier, "Expelliamus!" She yelled.
Selene quickly blocked her spell. A shocked expression covered Rosie's mothers face only to change quickly to anger. "Why you stupid girl-" Selene began only to be cut of by Rosie, "Percificus Totalus" she screamed only to have her spell blocked again.
"I'm sorry" Serene said and raised her left arm displaying the black ink marking her pale skin "avada ca-" Rosie squeezed her eyes shut and waited for death but it never came, instead she heard a slight murmur from the corner of the room where her father lay ,stupefy is all she heard as her mother fell to the floor.
She ran to her father as he lay limp on the floor. Rosie pulled her father into a tight embrace and then examined his injuries.
A deep cut ran through his stomach and his face was bruised. Rosie quickly moved her wand over the worst of the cuts and tried to remember the healing spell she was taught in charms last year, "Vulnera sanentur." She whispered partially closing the gaping wound which looked like they had been inflicted by a knife.
David grabbed Rosie's hand, "Contact the order." he said hoarsely.
1 week later
Rosie had returned to Hogwarts conscious about leaving her fathers side. David Noran had been admitted to StMungos hospital to ensure a full recovery.
The days at Hogwarts all merged into one and Rosie regretted her rejection of staying at a safe house with her father but she wanted to stay with her friends and if anything happened again she knew her father would be better of without her to worry about.
The stress of exams and David were engulfing her and her friends noticed her change in attitude since she had returned. Draco tried his best to support her and made sure to check up as often as possible.
Days turned to weeks and Rosie had finally got a grip and attempted to relax on the upcoming Hogsmeade trip with Draco.
The two were sat in their own booth with butterbeers talking about how excited they were for sixth year after OWLS were done and they could really get into the few lessons they had. Draco had noticed Rosie's attitude change in the past few weeks and had decided not to comment on it since he was fully aware of the situation and remembered seeing a woman who must have been Serene as she had the same eyes as her daughter expect Serene's were much darker. Every time Draco saw her at a meeting he had to bottle up his anger and try not to strike her down whenever she spoke.
It was getting late and Draco knew they would have to leave soon to make it back in time so they decided to leave. On the way back to Hogwarts Rosie's fingers interlocked with Draco's and she leaned her head against his as they walked.
Draco looked down at her with awe kissing the top of her head and feeling her warmth as she stood so close to him. The two walked the long way round and found themselves on the seventh floor outside the entrance to the room of requirement. Rosie stopped him and looked at him for a second taking in his perfect features. She loved this man so much and wanted to show this to him in every way she could, "Draco," she began barely above a whisper "follow me.".
Rosie led Draco by the hand into the room of requirement and sat down on the old sofa and leaned in kissing him softly "I'm ready" she said as they broke away Draco smiled and kissed her again passionately ten moved to her neck and lightly nipped at her collar bone causing Rosie to squeal as she pulled him closer embracing his warmth.
It was now the early hours of the morning and Rosie had fallen asleep in Draco's arms with a small quilt covering them both .Knowing that they would have to get back to their dorms before morning Draco gently moved his arm from underneath Rosie's head and pulled on a pair of boxers and his trousers. He then woke Rosie by kissing the top of her head and then her mouth after she awoke.
After changing Draco walked Rosie back to her dorm, thankfully he knew the corridors that weren't occupied by prefects.
Once at Ravenclaw tower Rosie kissed Draco goodbye and headed to her room with a smile still plastered on her face like Draco. No matter how dark their lives seemed they were each other's light and wanted it to stay that way forever.
