After a very long defence against the dark arts lesson Rosie practically sprinted out of the classroom "Hey Noran" Rosie spun on her heels "what Draco?". Draco stood so close to Rosie that her back was against the wall as he spoke to her looking down through cold grey eyes "I have to talk to you" as he said this he walked forward slightly, forcing Rosie further towards the wall "um..I was just wondering...er..."Draco stumbled over his words and suddenly blurted out "are you and Potter together?". Taken back by this Rosie struggled to get her words out "No! No..we're not...urm no". Draco didn't look her in the eye but instead stared at his fingers still cornering her against the wall "right well...urm good I guess" Draco said but once he saw the confusion on Rosie's face he completely changed his tone "I don't want another addition to Potter's little fan club!" The confusion on her face was replaced with anger "Piss off Malfoy" Rosie yelled and stormed off leaving him behind her as she angrily walked to potions alone.
Potions was long and dull as Professor Snape droned on about the dangers of using too much mayfly extract. Natalie and Agnes sat either side of Rosie and the girls spent the lesson discretely passing notes and holding back giggles until Rosie was caught in the act. "miss Noran" Snape spoke cooly and firmly "We do not pass notes in class. That's a detention and 10 points from Ravenclaw." Rosie moaned at the news and slumped down in her chair.
After potions the three darted up to the great hall for lunch which Rosie hoped would lift her spirits. Which it did!
Once she had eaten as much as she could Rosie said goodbye to Natalie and headed down to care of magical creatures with Agnes. When they arrived the girl realised that they were late as Hagrid was already addressing the class."Ah, there 'yar" Hagrid said with a grin. Rosie looked up at him "sorry Hagrid" she said. "Don't worry about it. Just don't let it happen again." He responded and Rosie nodded as a reply.
During care of magical creatures Agnes went to join Luna so Rosie paired up with Hermione .As they chatted their conversation managed to steer its way over to Harry. "So what's going on with you two anyway?" Hermione asked .Rosie blushed slightly at the question and shrugged her shoulders in reply. "I mean nothing's happened since the Yule ball a-" Hermione was cut short by Rosie shushing her. The incident Hermione was referring to remained unknown to most at Hogwarts, although it was only one spur of the moment kiss outside the castle she didn't want people to get the wrong idea. "Nothing is happening and it won't happen again" Rosie reassured her. "Besides" Rosie began "I could ask you the same thing about you and Ron" she teased. Hermione's cheeks grew slightly pinker around her nose and she hid her face with the palm of her hand as she mumbled "I don't know he's been giving me mixed signals and I can't focus around him" she stopped as Lavender turned and glared coldly at Hermione "Just ignore her" Rosie said glaring back at Lavender.
The rest of care of magical creatures passed by fairly uneventfully with only a few snide comments from Lavender. And Herbology was so boring that it's not even worth thinking about. After eating dinner Rosie made her way down to Snapes classroom for detention.
Oh great Rosie thought as she saw the dirty cauldrons and sponges. "Miss Noran take a seat" Snape said coldly. Rosie pulled out a seat near the front as Snape levitated a bucket and and sponge onto the desk in front of her "I assume you know what to do" he said through gritted teeth glaring at her through black eyes.
After cleaning what felt like a million cauldrons Rosie's hands were red and raw and her arms ached as she left the classroom. It was after hours and instead of going straight back to her common room Rosie decided to take a detour and stroll around the castle. She had just re-entered the west side of the castle when she heard footsteps coming towards her without thinking she quickly ducked behind a pillar that stuck out from the rest of the wall. "Noran?" A cold voice called. Rosie felt her shoulders tense against the wall. "What are you doing out of your dorm?" He questioned standing in front of her, his strong hand resting against the wall next to her head. "I could ask you the same thing Malfoy" Rosie snapped. "Prefect duties" he replied with a smirk making Rosie chuckle slightly. He smiled at her his eyes staring directly into hers.
He gently pushed a strand of golden brown hair from her face with his free hand which then slid just underneath her ear. In response Rosie placed one hand on his strong shoulder grabbing at his robes. They stayed in this position for a while until they heard a mumble followed by footsteps. Draco grabbed the lower part of Rosie's back and pushed her further against the wall neither of them spoke until whoever it was turned a corner causing them to relax. Draco looked down at Rosie and whispered in her ear "beautiful" she blushed and he hesitantly pulled himself away and walked down the corridor in front of where they were just stood. Rosie stared at his back as he walked away.
Feeling very flustered and disoriented she made her way back to her dorm where she got ready for bed still not thinking of anything other than Draco.
When in bed Rosie simply stated at the ceiling going over the recent events in her head and only confusing herself more. As much as she hated herself for it Rosie found herself wanting more from Malfoy, but no one can know. Ever.
