The start of the Christmas holidays was miserable for two days Rosie moped around the house until Christmas Eve when she perked up a bit although she was upset over her breakup with Draco she was more upset over the fight that happened between him and Harry. She had gone to see him in the hospital wing but he wasn't awake so she had put down the flowers and left.

Her Christmas was good considering. She spent a lot of time in diagonal alley with Natalie, Agnes and Ginny. She received many beautiful gifts and one that particularly stood out to her it was anonymous and wrapped in emerald paper. She hoped it was Draco but he wouldn't have not after the way she treated him. That was the worst part for Rosie he was clearly going through something that she didn't understand and she tweeted him like dirt. Inside the emerald green box was a gold bracelet with three charms a rose, an eagle and a love heart. It was beautiful and Rosie hadn't taken it off since she got it.

It was nearly time to go back to school so Rosie packed her thing and her new owl that her parents had got her for Christmas he was an almost purple black colour and he had grey eyes his name was Nightingale but that was a bit long so Rosie called him Gale.

After she had hooped down the stares one of her house elves Carrie brought her trunk to the door and Rosie held Gale in his cage.

She got into the car with her parents and drove to kings cross station. Once there she spotted Natalie she had gotten another two piercings in her ears for Christmas and they suited her very well. They boarded the train together to find Agnes and Ginny in a compartment with Neville and Luna. The two happily joined them and they chatted for ages about each other's holidays.

Once they were close enough to Hogwarts Rosie decided to get changed so left her friends and wondered off to the bathroom. On her way a strong shoulder barged into her "Hey look where your-" she began but stopped when she realised who it was "Draco?" she said confused at why he went home this holiday as he usually stayed. "Sorry" he mumbled under his breath. Rosie grabbed his arm sub-consciously as he turned away "Wait!" she said "Urm ... I wanted to uh apologise I guess I should have heard you out." she mumbled not knowing what else to say.
"Yeah maybe you should but that doesn't matter now just ... stay away from me" he said. His words were angry but his eyes looked upset. His words cut like a knife and she dropped her arm she was expecting tears but they didn't come instead she just stood there in shock opening and closing her mouth but no words came out and he turned away. His eyes pricked with the feeling of tears but he pushed it away it was for her own good and no matter how badly he wanted to scoop her into his arms and kiss her he couldn't. She was in enough danger with her father and mother so high up in the ministry she didn't need to be dating a death eater too. He loved her too much to see her put in any danger.

Rosie watched as the boy she loved walked away without so much as a glance her way. She turned and made her way to the bathrooms after changing she looked in the mirror and a tear fell down her cheek and hit the sink making a small sound. She quickly wiped it away and shook her head. No she wouldn't cry not this time she had spent enough time crying like a little girl but she was stronger than that.

She got back into the compartment and acted as if nothing was wrong for the entirety of the journey.

When in the great hall they all began to eat and Rosie couldn't help but notice that Draco was staring at her. She looked at him but he quickly turned away not wanting to be caught but he wasn't very discreet.

Draco knew he probably looked like an idiot but he couldn't help it. It had only been 3 weeks but it felt so much longer and he couldn't stop himself from staring. She was so beautiful her long brown waves falling perfectly down her shoulders and he couldn't help but smile as he noticed the gold bracelet he got her attached to her slender wrist. He needed to stop she clearly knew he was staring and he couldn't let her know that he loves her if he wanted to protect her. He had to keep out of the way no matter how much it hurt him or her because if they stayed together it would be a lot worse.
