Hello! Before we start this journey, I would like to say some things.
— You can call me Ven or just author. Whatever you feel comfortable with.
— Please remain respectful. By respectful, I mean don't leave nasty comments about me, someone else, or ANY religion, not just Christianity. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all. Be mindful.
— If I say something that you think may be wrong, I would appreciate it if you left a comment about it or sent me a DM. This would be for things that could be seen as unkind, spelling/grammar mistakes, or if it is not true.
— Anything in brackets [ ] is the source I got it from. For example, "But you, Lord, are forever exalted." [Psalms 92:8 NIV]Introduction
The Bible is a collections of religious texts. It's split into two, the Old Testament and the New Testament. It is God-breathed [2 Timothy 3 NIV]; God inspired the men that wrote down His Word. Basically, He told them what to write. He made sure that none of it went against Him and His teachings. If anyone would like me to further explain the history of the Bible, or give my thoughts on any chapters/books, feel free to leave a comment or send me a DM! :)
This video explains most of the Bible. I enjoyed watching it, and hope you do too.

The book of 1 Samuel chapter 8.1 Samuel is one of the many books of the Bible. It is in the Old Testament. It reveals the Lord's faithfulness towards the Israelites despite their unfaithfulness.
"But when they said, "Give us a king to lead us," this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the Lord. And the Lord told him: "Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king. As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you. Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will claim as his rights." Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people who were asking him for a king. He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his slaves. When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, but the Lord will not answer you in that day." But the people refused to listen to Samuel. "No!" they said. "We want a king over us."
1 Samuel 8:6-10, 17-19 NIV
https://bible.com/bible/111/1sa.8.7-19.NIVI would like to look closer at chapter 8 of this book. To sum the chapter up, the people of Israel ask Samuel for a human king. They want to be like the other nations and have a human ruler. They were rejecting God as their ruler. God told Samuel to warn them of how wicked the king would be. He did. The Israelites ignored his warning and continued to ask for a human king to judge them. Samuel, once again, told God what they had asked for; God said to obey their voice and make them a king.
I feel like this relates to people nowadays. When people hear the message that Christians give them, they don't like it and deny it, just as the Israelites denied God as their king. They ask for a new king/god to serve. This is like how people treat worldly objects as idols. Samuel warns them that the king will make them into slaves and take everything from them. This made me ponder on what this could represent. The new king could be an example of Satan and the king making them into slaves is Satan making people focus less on God and being slaves to sin. Samuel warns them again, but they don't listen. He says that the Lord won't answer their cries when they realize their new king is bad. This could be an example of the end times and how the things that people thought were good are revealed as bad and it's too late to go to God.
In the next chapter, I will go over the topic of accepting Jesus. Thank you for reading! If you have any thoughts, leave a comment.
God bless you and keep you safe. <33Sources:
