All humans search for fulfillment. They search for it in relationships, accomplishments, and many other things. This is to satisfy the natural desire for something that will last forever, something that is consistent.
"As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?" [Psalms 42:1-2 NIV]
This desire can only be satisfied by something eternal. the Lord. God planted in humans a desire to know Him. This is because He loves us and wants a relationship with each one of us. Living in communion with Him and with others is our original purpose. Another passage for this idea is John 15:1-17. Check it out!
Another desire or instinct humans have is to look for glory. Glory can be sought for in achievements, wealth, or wisdom. However, that is not what man is supposed to find glory in. We are to glory in the Lord. -Romans 15:17 : "...glory in Christ Jesus..." -Ephesians 3:21 : "...to Him be the glory..." -2 Corinthians 12:9-10 : "But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
"This is what the Lord says: "Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight," declares the Lord." [Jeremiah 9:23-24 NIV]

We can respond to this desire by actively seeking God and living in worship of Him. We should continuously give Him praise, no matter the circumstances (God is good all the time!).
"Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord." [Psalms 150:6 NIV] More verses: -Matthew 5:6 "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." -Jeremiah 17:8 ""But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green.
