Verse of the Day
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."
[Proverbs 9:10 NIV]"Senseless people do not know, fools do not understand, that though the wicked spring up like grass and all evildoers flourish, they will be destroyed forever."
[Psalms 92:6-7 NIV]"Why does God let bad things happen? Why does He allow the world to be this way?"
A commonly asked question. Unfortunately, the answer to this is complicated.
I think that God lets it happen because Adam & Eve allowed sin into their lives by eating that fruit. He gave them free will and that's what they chose to do.
"Why do we have to be affected by those two's choices?"
I don't know.
What I do know is that at the end of time, according to Psalm 92, God will destroy Satan and everything evil."I don't want to follow a God like that. He's mean and unjust."
He's not unjust. If He was unjust, He wouldn't send His Son to die. Also, it's your choice whether or not you choose to pursue a relationship with Jesus. He's not going to force you.
"Isn't He mean because He forced Jesus to die?"
No. He didn't force Jesus to die. According to the Trinity, there's God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God is love. They loved each other. God made humans, and though we sin, He still loves us. Since He loved us so much, God the Son went down in human form to be a sacrifice. He didn't have to, He chose to.
"However, as it is written: "What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived"— the things God has prepared for those who love him— these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person's thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, for, "Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ."
[1 Corinthians 2:9-12, 14-16 NIV]When people debate Christianity, the existence of God, whether or not He is who He is, etc. I feel like we are all making a mistake sometimes by trying to explain it ourselves. Don't get me wrong. It's great that you ask other Christians questions. I encourage you to do that and be involved in your church and community. But sometimes, they won't have all of the answers.
All these questions you have about God and Jesus— why don't you ask Him yourself?
"For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.""
[1 Corinthians 1:19 NIV]I feel that this is why even the most wise and intelligent people, according to this world, can't figure out God. He's too big and great for our tiny minds to comprehend.
"But how am I supposed to know what He says?"
Read the Bible. It's known as the written Word of God. Also, sometimes things won't come to you immediately and you have to keep on searching and thinking and talking to God about it. It's okay if you don't get something at all, too. Our minds won't be able to comprehend and take in everything, and that's fine. It's just who we are.
"Why didn't God make us able to comprehend all the things that He can?"
Good question. IDK. Ask Him!
Thanks for taking the time and read this journal entry! I was reading the Word, and then suddenly God started talking to me. I just NEEDED to write these things down and share them! God is so good! 🥰
Remember, if you have any questions, concerns, or comments please let me know.
God bless you and keep you all.
"May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands."
[Psalms 90:17 NIV]
