Verse of the Day
"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it."
[Malachi 3:10 NIV]"A wicked person earns deceptive wages, but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward."
[Proverbs 11:18 NIV]This verse describes how a wicked person who sows evil seeds will reap bad fruit (deceptive wages). It then says whoever sows righteous seeds will reap good fruit (a sure reward).
Sowing these seeds may be difficult, but the reward is worth it. We will bear the fruit of the Spirit. However, if we plant bad seeds, fruit like pride, greed, and envy will sprout. The Lord is againts such traits (Proverbs 6:16-19).
"Do not those who plot evil go astray? But those who plan what is good find love and faithfulness."
[Proverbs 14:22 NIV]Let's say that every action you take waters a plant. If you walk in and act by the Spirit (Galatians 5:22), you water the "plant of the Spirit." But if you walk in the way of the flesh, you water the "plant of the flesh." We should refrain from actions that would water this plant. Without water, plants will not survive.
"Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit."
[Galatians 5:25 NIV]
As we live by the Spirit that God has given us, we keep in step with the Spirit by letting the Spirit guide us on our path in life. We do this every day by practicing our faith.Thank you for reading! also AMEN to the daily verse, it's so beautiful.
"Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken."
