Now that our engagement has been made public to the world, our social media engagement has increased and we have received new opportunities. E! were the first network to reach out to us about having our own reality TV series and I'm pretty surprised to see that they were offering half a million per episode.
I have not wanted to be on TV again since I appeared on Bad Girls Club because that stunted my growth and gave me a bad rep. E! want to shoot a house hunting series and a wedding planning series with them which is insane to me but I don't want to ruin the relationship that we have.
Travis and I have made it this far due to our lack of social media presence and keeping our relationship lowkey so a reality series would exploit that. The attention that we have received since the announcement has been slightly overwhelming as I have found myself on the PR list for many major brands an invitations to a lister events have been sent my way.
"Welcome back to Safe to Say where we are joined by world's hottest couple, Travis Kelce and Jordana." I smile at Heather Sanders while holding onto my man's hand. "I want to start off by saying congratulations on the engagement."
"Thank you, Heather." My smile grows as I hold up my ring finger to the camera.
"I literally screamed when I saw your instagram post because it was so unexpected but I knew that it was going to happen because you guys are made for eachother."
Travis nods at her, "Appreciate it."
"What has it been like for you to go through this journey of love and realise that the other was the one?" Heather asks and I turn to look at my man who gives my hand a slight squeeze.
"I knew Jordana was mine before she was even mine." We laugh at his choice of words. "I was first introduced to Jordana at a party by our mutual friend, Colson Baker and it was nothing more than a friendly exchange. I couldn't get her out of my mind so I found her on instagram and sent her a friendly message which led to us speaking a lot over the social media platform."
"That's so cute." Heather smiles. "I love that you met in person first before doing the whole social media thing which has become a norm for us."
"Yeah but I knew that she was the one when I found myself renting out private jets and booking late night flights to be with her." Heather sighs in adoration at his words and I bite down on my bottom lip while looking at my man. "I have flown out to see women in the past but this was unlike anything that I have ever done. The second that practice was finished, I would be on the first flight to LAX to be with my woman and it was quite frequent."
"I think that's when I knew that you were the one because those moments that we shared here truly meant everything to me. I was used to being involved with men who did not want to be publicly seen with me and I finally met this man who was not ashamed of me." I pause for a moment as Heather pats my knee in a comforting manner. "I was not used to having a man taking time out of his busy life to be with me, flying out whenever he could, lavishing me in heartfelt gifts and surprising me when I least expected it."
"You deserve the world." Travis tells me. "I hope I've made you see that."
"You have." I smile as I lean towards to my man who captures my lips in his as my hand moves to lovingly cup his face.
"Oh my God, you guys are the cutest." Heather squeals as she claps her hands together. "I love that you guys are not afraid to show your love which I think is really important for a black woman. We are so used to be belittled and being treated like shit so finding love as adults is one of the ways that we can break the cycle when we have our children."
I nod my head in agreement, "Absolutely."
