Introduction: Hi, i literally only wrote this because i needed a distraction from school, hope you enjoy this as much as i enjoyed writing it and please don't judge for spelling mistakes, english isn't my first or second language. (i tried to use Y/N it was really difficult for me to do so, so i just used "saiya" you can imagine whatever name you like however. )Please enjoy.
Neteyam and Saiya had been together for as long as they could both remember, from the moment Saiya was born and placed in the sully home after a few weeks of being born to be blessed by the Tsahìk before her formal ceremony, to them growing up to being full fledged Omaticayans, needed and appreciated by their clan at 18 and 19 years of age. Since the age of 11 they knew they liked each other but denied it every single second of the day, they were just "best friends" of course!
However as the years continued and the stares became longer and touches felt more intense they eventually confessed their feelings towards one another, releasing everyone from the painful tension that surrounded them when they were around each other. Due to their young age of 15 they could not yet be mated and had to wait but everyone knew they were off limits to anyone else and made for each other.
One evening as Saiya sat under the tree of souls she heard quiet rustling behind her, the soft crunch of leaves beneath their feet and stillness of their breath.
"Neteyam." She called out not removing her self from her sitting position or waving the atokirina (woodsprite) away.
He slowly revealed himself from behind the large stump of tree, eyebrows raised in impression. "How'd you know it was me?" he questioned carefully making his way towards her.
She turned her head to face the boy making the atokirna's that sat upon the lengths of her arm float away, unable to contain her smile she bared her teeth at the boy causing him to smile back. "You're not as stealth as you think." she joked.
"I think i take offence to that." He fake scoffed holding his chest as though to mock being shot.
"My apologies Olo'eyktan, it would never be my intention to do such a thing!" She faked gasped reaching out to pull him down to her level.
Once knee to knee, he sighed placing his forehead against hers. "I am not Olo'eyktan."
"Yet." She finished"You are not Olo'eyktan, yet. You still have time neteyam." They had had this conversation many times before. She always knew the right words to reassure him long enough before he doubted himself again.
"And when you are, i will be right there." She whispered caressing his face with her 4 fingers.
Saiya was the second child to her parents who grew up with Neytiri since she was a child herself. They mated a few months after their olo'eyktan did and gave birth to her 6 months after they gave birth to neteyam. Considering their close friendship, it wasn't a surprise when their children became best friends also. Her parents fought along side Jake and Neytiri in the Pandoran war being one of the thousands of survivors from the fallen mother tree, being shaken up by the incident weirdly enough brought her parents together as they sought comfort in one another, truly finding their hearts in one another and longing to be in each others arms.
She was their love in physical form, their bundle of joy. They loved her, and she loved them. It wasn't always just the three of them, Saiya had a brother but the memories of him were faint. The Sully's were like her second family never failing to make her feel loved and involved. Jake teaching her english words, slang and how to hold guns whilst Neytiri taught her how to shoot a bow with precision and determination.
Once Kiri and Lo'ak were born it was like Saiya also gained siblings, especially after Tuk she felt like she had the cutest little sister in all of pandora and she adored Saiya just the same, of course Neteyam was her favourite.
She felt so lucky to be surrounded by such kind characters and loved by such amazing souls which she never forgot to thank Eywa for.
The boy shifted his yellow irises to meet hers trusting her warm words of encouragement and clinging onto them. Leaning forward they connected their lips slowly, not an ounce of desperation in it but pure need. Love, heart burning love, the kind of love you hoped would never fade or falter but would just keep burning forever.
They had kissed many times before, being each others firsts, practicing with each other, but still pinky promising (something taught by jake) to not tell any one else about it. It was their little secret.
"It's getting late come on we should head back." He motioned pulling his head back and pushing a braid behind her ear. "I know Nete, but it's so beautiful." She paused admiring the beautiful greenery that was now bioluminescent with different gentle creatures scurrying around.
"It really is." He murmured, keeping his eyes directly on her face, scanning every freckle that littered across it, glowing like stars amongst her features. She noticed his head was not looking in the same direction as hers.
Looking down at him, his gaze was caught red handed, deep in concentration. A nervous laughter erupted from his throat sending warm shivers down Saiya. They stood up hand in hand and made their way back into the village before the muted hues of orange and pink in the sky faded into black.
Getting back they gave their unwanted goodbyes and each headed in their own direction home. Usually Neteyam wasn't a fan of letting Saiya get to her family hut alone however, tonight was his parents date night so he had to be home as soon as he could.
As she opened the flap to her family hut she saw her parents sitting with one another as usual, her father weaving which he loved to do and her mother cooking boar on the fire. "ma syulang, you've returned!" (my flower) Her father said in happiness.
"Sempu." (father) she sighed giving him a tight hug before also giving one to her mother who was smiling at the two of them. She kissed her head careful to not touch her daughter with her hands. "You were with Neteyam?" she asked turning back around to focus on the boar.
She hesitated, not planning to lie but just wait before answering. Talking about him made her feel like a kid all over again, giddy and smiling uncontrollably.
"Yes i was." She said trying to force her smile away but failing. "Of course you were, you two are perfect." her father added on.
"Oh No Sempu,( father) stop it, no one is perfect remember? You said that." She tried to play off, knowing inside she thought Neteyam was.
"Oh Syulang (flower) of course you are, you're our princess."
"Sempu (father) that's enough i'm 18 not 6." She joked, loving how they never stopped treating her like their precious baby."Saiya come try!" Her mother beckoned her over to try the freshly roasted meat. Her sharp canines piercing the meat and devouring it. "Hmm Sanu, (mother) this tastes delicious." She muttered in total honesty trying to put more in her mouth.
"Irayo Ma Syulang." (Thank you my flower)
Over at the Sully's, Neteyam reached his bustling home that never seemed to rest, being greeted by his family.
"Neteyam! you're back!" Tuktirey cheered running into her big brother's arms like she always did."Where's Saiya?" Kiri asked looking over her brother's shoulder as if she would appear from the corner.
"Home." The boy responded rubbing his sister's shoulder. He knew how much his siblings adored her and he enjoyed knowing that most of her time was spent with him if not training or with her parents. She was the one thing he could mainly have to himself and he refused to let go.
"Son, finally you're back, we're just about to leave." Jake called out seeing his son in front of the flap.
"Sir." Neteyam greeted back giving him a smile which was reciprocated by his father. With a few kisses and extra go overs on the rules Neytiri and Jake left the kids home alone, with Neteyam in charge as usual. Unexpectedly the night was as peaceful as it could be, Lo'ak and Kiri didn't end up in a useless vocal battles like they normally did and Tuk wasn't as restless as every other date night. Everything was going swimmingly.
