Soon after finding Kiri they were taken to a shallower area of the water where they could stand. Standing in a half circle in front of Tsireya and Aounung who had planned to teach them to ride an Ilu.

They yipped and chirped as they swam around them passing by their legs and circling.
"These are Ilu, if you want to live here you have to ride." Aounung explained, pointing his hand out.

"Lo'ak can come with me." Tsireya instructed motioning for him to come forward. Rotxo volunteered to take Kiri which she hesitantly agreed to, left were Saiya, Neteyam who carried Tuk and Aounung.

Noticing the tense energy between the two boys Saiya spoke up, "You can show Nete, I'll just have Tsireya show me later." She pulled Tuk into her own arms and began to slowly remove herself from the water.

"No it's better I show you first, Neteyam wouldn't mind waiting. Right?" The boy taunted smiling charmingly at her not even looking at her future mate.

Saiya looked back at her Neteyam who stood arms crossed staring daggers at the boy.

"Beautiful things shouldn't have to wait." He added
now turning his head to look at Neteyam. "That's enough." He gritted through his teeth making his way over to an Ilu, implicitly telling Aounung he wanted to get it over with.

Saiya walked over to the sand bed with Tuk and sat watching as Tsireya and Lo'ak laughed at whatever, Rotxo struggling to get Kiri to listen to his instructions and Neteyam and Aounung trying not to give into the urge of drowning one another.

"Saiya look!" Tuk yelled out after a while, pointing at Lo'ak who was now under the water going faster than he could handle. Soon he was flung off and the Ilu continued its journey without him.

Everyone in the water crouched below to get a good view, Aounung coming up laughter already bellowing from him. Tsireya scolded him once again deciding to give them a break and teach Saiya as the others rested.

All the boys sat upon opposite sides of the sand bed, obvious tension in the air as Kiri took Tuk for a swim to look at the coral on the further side of the water.

Tsireya called Saiya over and clicked her tongue in an interesting way to grab the Ilu's attention. As the Ilu swam forward it immediately reached its head up to Saiya chirping loudly and in excitement. She rubbed its head softly, chuckling at its behaviour. "She likes you!" Tsireya announced noticing how excited yet gentle it was being with her.

After explaining how to call for her Ilu and mount it Tsireya instructed Saiya to sit on top and lie forward to be able to control the direction of the Ilu. Her position and attentiveness in the water not only caught the attention of Neteyam but Aounungs also.

"Bro, look." Lo'ak tapped his brother's shoulder nodding in the direction of the other two boys on the other side of the sand. Neteyam felt his patience diminishing as he watched Aounung burn Saiyas' image into his brain.

Remembering his father's words he chose not to react and keep calm, after all Saiya was his and he didn't have to worry about competition.
Once completed they all went back into the water and had fun swimming and racing one another. Tsireya encouraging Kiri and Saiya to do the same tricks as her and create a team against the boys, playing underwater tag.

Emerging from the water, the beautiful sky with shades of orange and pink made the water look darker, signifying daylight was getting further.

"You are learning to breathe!" Tsireya smiled
as she rode beside them. Exhaustion soon took over and they called it a day and headed back to their homes. Neteyam and Saiya dropping their siblings off and exiting before Jake could bore them with his stories of how he "conquered" a Skimwing.
